Go look up Tennessee’s and get back to me, since you brought up them specifically in your original post

Ok, bookmark it. If Verge doesn’t give him the 2-4 mil he needs, another team will

You realize they raised $500K in one night at the first pitch banquet. The NIL money is there. Jay gets whatever money he needs.

How much do their players get in NIL?
Revenue sharing?

Now compare the numbers to our numbers. Let me know what you find.

THIS! problem isn't money--it's talent evaluation.

There's a reason that over half of the first round draft picks never make it in the majors. It's difficult to project

There’s a reason MLB teams never poach college head coaches: because it doesn’t work. Vitello is a gimmick hire in SF. I’m giving him 3 seasons at the outside.

100% - he is the first college coach with no pro coaching experience to EVER become an MLB manager.

College baseball is very, very different from the MLB and as the folks who are big college baseball fans - but don't watch much MLB other than Skenes pitching, truly understand how different they are.

Some of the comments Vitello made after his first series this year kind of makes one wonder if he really understood that.

I'm not sure many other teams if any are going to follow this trend, but Jay is trying to leverage to get more for his program, it's what he should be doing, keep it up. But he knows how good he's got it here.

If you are referring to NIL then Verge cannot give it to him. NIL comes from 3rd parties and the University is not allowed to give it out, they can only facilitate. The actual donor/NIL providers have to step up.
the university is intricately involved with NIL

Especially when you think about how the portal is open while teams are in Omaha, which leads to the teams in Omaha being at a disadvantage.
even bigger disadvantage when you’re team is playing in the championship series.

Admins still think the lore of LSU baseball will bring the top kids here over money. For the most part, they're wrong

Either LSU is offering more money, LSU baseball brand is bringing them here, or a combination of both. We're getting top ranked classes so which is it?
