Why the frick would we even want to contemplate the idea of facing Bama again?

We would have to demolish the remaining teams and hope for some magic to happen in the rankings.

Definitely not impossible.

That isn't the committee rankings. They will pick and choose.

Simply put, even at 10-2, LSU isn't likely to beat out a 2 loss conference champ, or a 1 loss UCF. Probably the only team that could get such consideration would be if A&M were to have gone 10-2 with losses only to undefeated Bama and Clemson; and even then, still unlikely since they'd be 0-2 against playoff teams.

ONLY hope would be to finish 10-2, and have the Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12 and UCF all collapse down the stretch. That's going on the assumption that Bama and Clemson win out, and eliminate contenders from their conferences (an upset might just move another team ahead of us, and not knock out Clemson and Bama with 1 loss).
Notre Dame is also most likely going to win out, so go ahead and write them in too.

At this point our best hope for the rest of the season is for Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame to win out; Auburn to beat UGA so we can get back into Sugar Bowl consideration, and then beat someone like Oklahoma or Ohio State in that. Getting scorched by Bama isn't a death sentence, they were expected to do that. We're realistically trying to be the best SEC team at the next tier this year.

You're forgetting an undefeated WV. They'd jump us. Ohio State would jump us with a win over Michigan. Too much has to happen.

1 loss UCF
No way in Hell a 1 loss UCF would finish ranked ahead of a 2 loss LSU.

Don’t want. We need to regroup after this season and try again next season. I rather play in the sugar bowl and go out with a win.

And I have a bridge to sell you.

And seriously, do you really want to be subjected to another embarrassment in front of the whole country?

OU still has the Bedlam game. Anything can happen.

I’ll risk a ban bet they don’t lose at home to OSU. They own them

They are 18 point favorites. OU is in the playoffs

We wouldn’t lose by that much and the national exposure would be worth it. Don’t be a whiny tit

As someone else said, you are looking at the wrong numbers.

We got shut out and lost by 29 at home. And it wasn't really that close. No way the committee puts us in over other conference champions, even if they have two losses. We would need everyone but Bama, ND and Clemson to have three losses.

Does it matter?

Special Ed and the Tight Ends coach (who sucked at that too) pretending to be an OC aren't beating any team in the playoff.

If Washington state won out as pac 12 champ they’d go before LSU with one loss. Even though I believe we would smoke them.
