The sunshine pump is strong with you. This is a multi year rebuild. It will pay off. Eventually.

Where would you place him overall in the SEC pantheon of QBs? Let us know!
can’t say I’ve watched enough games of other SEC teams to make a ranking.

That said, I’m sure as hell not going to determine it by looking solely at YPA.

BK running the ND offense, and bringing that dead weight Denbrock, aka Cam Cameron, along for a few mil free ride is not going to get us far

I’m no expert, but I can tell you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Not necessarily. Look at the present Harsin-AU debacle and the last 15 years at Tennessee.

Well, until now...

I see that I have offended a lot of you, lol. What I mean is that we need to be explosive, we have all these so called highly rated kids absolutely doing nothing. When I say play to win I mean getting the ball in their hands, throwing some back shoulders, some 50/50 to 6'4 Brian Thomas. Not play scared and afraid to turn the ball over. Now I get thats a really good thing but we will never get over the top if that remains the strategy. So a 7 and 5 season may actually be better in the long run if it helps build trust and experience between qb and wr although there may be some interceptions in there that may costs us a game or two. I would rather that than just some ho hum game where our talent gets us by. But guess what our talent is not going to get us by sgainst the big guns. Oh well, I understand my posts may have been confusing but some of you dudes need to calm down.

It’s just so up to chance that a player of quality in a position of need will be there.
There will always be some players who just need a change of scenery. BK did a great job of scouting and signing the right players. If he has the same success next off season, LSU football will be able to turn it up a notch. BK may have to find a qb though.

Boogedy, your posts are confusing. The posts are superficial, contradictory, and condescending, reflecting the logic of an adolescent.

Wayne, nothing he has done this year suggests that he can be a competitive QB in this conference.

I'm not putting any stock into how he performed against Southern or New Mexico. His performance against FSU was very up and down. But, he got going against Mississippi State. And last I checked they're in this conference.

His performance against Auburn was pretty bad. We'll see what happens going forward.

Right. QBR? Points generated? Look at all of them. His completion percentage is misleading. Almost no explosive plays. He has not performed even average.

If one believes in stats he will have a nice opportunity against Tennessee's defense. Agree. We'll see.

And with a very mobile QB hmmmm.

Makes you wonder what the experts saw in our oline.

In other words it could have been much worse. They saw it and tried to mitigate the problem.

But rant on expert

If you actually though this was a championship team in Kelly first year when coming off two seasons when the team was 11-12 combined maybe you need to get away from your ideas.

Unfortunately this is true.
I don't see the reason to keep playing him. I would much rather get experience with our younger qbs. They both have a much higher upside than JD. When LSU's best play is a broken play scramble, then we should know it is time for change. It will probably happen after the Tenn game...we'll see. Maybe a light came on this week after 3 years of bad QB play. I guess it happens, so we'll continue to hope for that.

All anybody needed to do was watch him play at ASU to see this coming. What doesn’t make sense is the staff not preparing and adjusting the offense to suit the way he plays.

How does one “suit” a QB who cannot pass the football?

Ever seen Florida’s offense with Tebow? What about Auburn’s with Nick Marshall or Ohio State’s with Braxton Miller? There have been a lot of successful offenses who had QBs that were very good runners and below average passers.
