Honestly, I’d prefer Vitello, McDonnell or Godwin over Corbin

Would be worth it if he said he was leaving to get away from that damn whistling maniac.

McDonnell for sure.

Corbin is 59 years old and has massive recruiting advantages at Vanderbilt. I think it is a lot riskier than people realize.

McDonnell is younger and although he hasn't won a title, he has turned a dogshit program into a force that has been to the CWS as many times as Corbin and Vandy.

It's not Corbin, and I would be concerned if it were. Leaving Vandy, with all of its recruiting advantages, would leave me wondering if Corbin was having a Senior moment.

Some of you guys suffer from a serious case of FOMO. No matter who SW hires, y'all are gonna think we missed out on someone better.

Yeah, I just don't see him leaving Vanderbilt and the pinnacle of success in his profession to go start all over at LSU where the BEST he could do is MATCH his current level of success.

Now, I guess it is possible he hates working at Vandy, or living in Nashville, or any other reason to leave. But if it is just to accept a massive contract LSU would have to offer I think you would have to question the motivation a bit. Is a 60 year old HC who has already built a legacy of great success really motivated to build up another program for, at best, another 8-10 years? Or is LSU his retirement in a profession that until relatively recently did not pay a ton for coaches? Win or lose he would still get paid a massive sum of money and his legacy as one of the great CBB coaches would already be secure.

All things being equal, I think I would almost rather Pat Casey. He's about the same age as Corbin. He has had as much, if not more success. But, the fire to coach again may be burning a little hotter after being away for a few years. Whereas Corbin would be leaving the top of the mountain just to try (and be expected to) climb right back up it.

One side of my brain says that it does feel like its going to be Corbin. The other side of my brain keeps going back to "Why would he leave Vandy". But, Mulkey left Baylor. So, who knows. Theres always a chance, no matter how small it is. If we end up with either Corbin, Johnson, Vitello, Godwin, or McDonnell, I think we will be in a good spot.

God you motherfuxkwrs will never be happy

He has 2 top 5 guys. He’s hung 2 banners at Vandy, he’s in Omaha every year, classy guy that produces and he’s under 60.

Corbin would be a fricking grandslam- anyone who disagrees with that is a clown show. He’s the best coach in the country and no matter where he’s at- Vegas would have him as the most likely coach to win another national title in the next 5-10 years.

LSU could hire Jesus Christ and you pussys would still cry

Yeah that’ll be the factor, not that Vandys new AD won’t raise his salary and Scott will pay him a million more a year.

This dude will for sure not care about money like everyone else.
