you mean slapping? lefties who can slap it into the ground and run it out or bunt it well are great at getting on base.
No, i do not have any empirical evidence comparing the two off the top of my head right now. different styles work for different batters.

Nicely manufactured run and Carley seems sharp today.

But we gotta start hitting if we are going to go far in this thing.

no problem. my oldest is a pitcher but my youngest is a lefty slapper. gets on base every game. let the big sluggers drive her home. it works. need speed to slap. ULL is mainly a power hitting team but they have a real good slapper who played ball with my oldest. She was redshirted this year. Last name is Theriot.

Well, considering some of the best slappers have batting averages over .400 for a season, I'd say it works pretty well. Now, I do think these players should be able to hit with their feet standing still in RBI situations. But in lead off spots, it seems to be a good strategy. Just seems like LSU's slappers haven't had the luck they had last year.

Yep. Pitching and hitting with solid defense is always the answer.

OK, let me know when you get it back.

bottom 3, Alabama batting against Hoover

liner over Landry to the wall in right, leadoff double
Flyout to Landry in right! Runner was off 2nd and doesn't advance, 1 out
Torina coming out for a conference in the circle, Walljasper warming up
walk, runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out
grounder grabbed by Simmons but no one covering 1st, everyone safe, bases loaded, 1 out
single to left, run scores, bases loaded, 1 out
grounder to Quinn, tags the runner, then to 1st for the 4-3 double play to end the inning!!!!!
