If we remove the absurdity of this topic one reason is because he’s too old. Kim Mulkey is 58. Geno is 67.

Still don’t know what’s being argued though. Nobody’s pulling auriemma from UConn and why would you want to. Mulkey would be the perfect fit for LSU. Whatever deficit we operate in now will be reduced. The national coverage and exposure with her would only help. It’s worth it to pay her. Not worth it to theoretically pay geno whatever he would want which would never happen anyway.

Uconn women consistently turned a profit for nearly two decades, like the men. Football even turned a profit for a few years....then a couple teams chose to withdraw from the Big East. Somehow they were allowed to take the conference name and IP with them... and effectively bankrupted UConn’s entire athletics department.

But Mulkey grew up in Louisiana, was a star point guard in a LA college and would have good reasons to return for a new challenge.
None of that applies to Geno at U Conn.

Getting into a bidding war that you can't win, with a stable program, would be seen as a dick move by everyone. That guy isn't going anywhere, especially not here at this point in his career.
Mulkey would be difficult to get but at least there's a chance due to her strong Louisiana ties.
