re: Way too early projections for where Burrow goes in the Draft?

2nd or 3rd round.
Burrow is smart and a quick learner. He will be a good (not great) QB in the NFL, and will be better than some of the god awful QBs in the league now.

I think this is fair. While he has some good physical tools, he doesn't really have the physical attributes of a prototypical NFL quarterback. But he's smart, a great leader and a hard worker
How so? 6'4 216, mobile and with good, not great arm strength. You listed his intangibles which I agreed with.
What's not prototypical?

This article says the top factors for drafting a QB are:
1 Accuracy
2 Vision
3 Leadership & Poise
4 Arm Strength
5 Pocket Presence
6 Anticipation
7 Mechanics
8 Size
Burrow has the leadership, pocket presence, and size. His vision & anticipation seems good. His arm, mechanics, and accuracy may not be good enough to be a high round draft pick.

This is the money year. It will be interesting to see how well he does in a system where the ball has to come out quick.

once again, Big Prediction University
Why not wait and see how he actually performs this season?

His arm strength and accuracy, that’s pretty important for an NFL QB

Kinda tough to say without knowing how he'll perform at the combine. That carries more weight than anything he'll do this season.

Depends on the crop of QBs that come out. Burrow has some good qualities, he’s a coach’s son and has an A+ understanding of how to play the position, he’s not jittery in the pocket and once he gets going runs pretty well. He’s also got a decent arm and slides in the pocket pretty well. The downside for him is that he doesn’t have good feet, he stands flat footed often and doesn’t move quickly on his drops and with his movement within the pocket. He’s not NFL accurate, he’s got average college accuracy but that might improve and although he can run he lacks acceleration and scramble quickness at the next level. I think with a good season he’ll be drafted but he’s a 4th 5th rounder or lower depending on the crop that comes out. You can be as smart as can be but QBs in the NFL are more and more athletic and that’s where he’s lacking.

He has above average arm strength

Plus, Burrow had a good arm, a great release and good size. It was this competitive streak in Burrow, though, that Tom Herman kept circling back to.
“If he was playing his grandmother in tiddlywinks I think he’d want to skunk her,” Herman said.
Moreau on Burrow:
quote:
"Oh yea. We’ve met with him all summer, and he’s a really good guy, and he’s a really good quarterback. Great accuracy, great arm strength, a little bit of mobility in there. He’s a confident guy just like the rest of our quarterbacks, and he fits in really well with Justin, Myles and Lowell, so that’s kind of the main thing for me."
(Burrow's) got really good arm strength, and he’s got a little bit of Justin’s mobility, a little bit of Myles’ arm strength, some ball carrier vision like Lowell has.
quote:
Ensminger on Burrow again: A big strong athletic kid, doesn't make a lot of mistakes mentally and a very accurate kid. Watching on film I questioned his arm strength, but not anymore.
I guess I'll take the word of Herman, Moreau and Ensminger.

Danny will be cut soon by Patriots

4th or 5th round as a prospect to a team like the falcons, saints, packers, lions , chargers, any other team with a veteran established QB and the back up isn’t considered a starter in waiting.
This way he could sit behind a vet for a couple of years and learn.

In 2019:
1) Burrow will at 68%+ completions. 70%+ is not unlikely
2) He'll throw for 3500+ yards. 4000+ is not unlikely
3) He'll have a 5 to 1 or better TD to INT ratio.
4) His team will contend for the playoffs.
Burrow will be one of the first 5 QBs picked in the 2020 NFL draft. TITTB :)

This is possible but still doesn't mean it won't be 4-5 rounds......

Its not HIS team....... Its an LSU team... They will run way more than you think..........

I was surprised Etling got drafted,
Not me. I predicted he'd hang around in the NFL for a few years. The guy was a good QB for LSU. He played during one of those rare times when we had lower than usual talent at WR and our usual mediocre offensive line.

It's axiomatically unlikely.

4 QBs total out of 130 QB in FBS had 70% or higher completion percentage last season, none of them SEC QBs.
In fact, going back to 2004 (which is as far as ESPN's stats will go, but I'm sure the trend extends further), only one SEC QB (Greg Mcelroy) threw at a 70% completion percentage for the season.
You are clearly disconnected from reality.
