Brennon could have had a lot of success with last year’s supporting cast around him. Even though he isn’t as talented as Burrow, he is talented enough.

The bigger problem is that this team lacks leadership. They came out flat and uninterested, that wouldn’t have happened with Joe.

Play calling and game plan we’re bad, but fixable (may require new assistant coaches/coordinators).

But leadership... if you can’t lead after 4 years, I seriously doubt it will develop.

And at this point it’s hard to have any confidence in our ability to recruit and develop it.

“ Bring your best Bull$hit and tell me Johnson and why, give me the whole pro’s son speech and all the rest. He doesn’t have Finley’s 80 yard arm or potential.”

Burrow didn’t win the Heisman because of a great arm. Physical potential is not what wins the job. If Finley beats out Johnson it’s because he performs better at decision making.

I have no idea which of them is the better decision maker, but being the son of a coach certainly helps.
Talent-wise we are good enough.

Biggest question mark is leadership/that special desire for greatness.
What is PK? Somebody help me out

Why was 2018"s class so poorly ranked/why didn't we get more high ranked players that year?
He's not going to improve his draft stock by coming back, but he's not likely to go before the third round regardless.

If I were him, I would leave early. But I hope he stays.
Went to their channel, no update yet after the game.
If you are a masochist & like listening to morons, here it is.

Wrong

Elaborate.
I don't have high hopes for Parish. Great athlete, okay QB. I hope I'm wrong and he's fantastic.

Myles has the talent to start, but doesn't seem to have that competitive drive that Burrow has to carry the team to a National Championship. Should be good enough for 10 win seasons with talent around him.

Myles will start for 2 years, and we have 2 QB's in this recruiting class + will bring in at least 1 more next year so Parish will have the upper-hand from time in the system, but it's really anyone's guess how they develop.

I am not saying the scheme couldn’t have been better, just that it was more an issue with our players than our defensive game plan.

And my best guess for what happened to our players is that they crashed after being too hyped up. If that isn’t the head coach’s job to manage, whose is it?

It was the players, not Aranda

Lots of people blaming Aranda for a poor game plan, but our players on defense were flat footed and a step behind the whole second half. You can’t over compensate game plan for players that aren’t wrapping up, not using technique to get by the OLine, etc.

Our defense isn’t out of shape. We didn’t prepare them properly with hydration, but I think the biggest issue was we came into the game too hyped up. Our energy was through the roof then crashed during half time.

Coach O has to manage this team’s emotions better.

That was me. I watch the games but don’t follow it too closely anymore since getting married and having kids. I can barely name more than a couple starters anymore but a friend sent me this and figured I would give an update.
5 pages of opinions on where Burrow goes in the draft, 20+ pages of arguing about Strength & Conditioning coach....

We've got people here predicting first round and others saying undrafted. Undrafted is more likely than first round, but I think both are unlikely.

Just because you think he SHOULD be a first rounder doesn't mean that it has any bearing on reality.
This article says the top factors for drafting a QB are:

1 Accuracy
2 Vision
3 Leadership & Poise
4 Arm Strength
5 Pocket Presence
6 Anticipation
7 Mechanics
8 Size

Burrow has the leadership, pocket presence, and size. His vision & anticipation seems good. His arm, mechanics, and accuracy may not be good enough to be a high round draft pick.

I was surprised Etling got drafted, but I'd be REALLY surprised if Burrow doesn't go before him.
We have to see how this season plays out, but where do you think Burrow will be drafted?

I expect him to go in the 5th round, maybe as early as 3rd round with a terrific season to as low as the 7th round if he has a disappointing year.

What you got?
