Yes we have family in Oklahoma so we will spend the week out there and go to the game.

Late November in Oklahoma can be very cold as in icy/sleet conditions. I remember bedlam 2013 in Stillwater it was legit 14 degrees.

I had been thinking of going but then gave more thought being in Oklahoma in late November. I will pass on that type of weather.

I wish, we'll be at Texas/Texas A&M instead.

Hope you are right about the game having playoff implications. Also, there is nothing in Moore or OKC. Windstar is on the way back to DFW area about hour and a half south off I-35. If not too crowded should be good stop off to spend the night. I live about 45 minutes or so to the south from there give or take.

We plan on going. Our room is in Purcell Oklahoma. About 20-30 min south of Norman. I’ve never been before. But coming from br area I knew I didn’t wanna stay north or Norman.

I think the move is to stay in OKC, it's about 20-30 minutes north but many more options on rooms and entertainment.

Dude...they arent jumping that far from 6-7....and they lost some of their better players...one to us. You are a Big 12 Homer so I get it.

It’s less than a 3 hour drive from here and I’m curious about their tailgating. Haven’t planned a trip yet but this is the game we will likely make this year.

Ive been to a game there. Its an above average scene but even their own AD said when they joined the SEC they have a ways to go to match the elite atmospheres.

Tailgate is solid but nowhere near a top tier SEC tailgate

Booked my trip. My visit to every SEC stadium will be complete (until expansion of course).

Well, that’s a huge bummer. I was under the impression that they would be a good culture fit for SEC. I’ve always said Texas was a very poor fit.

Del Conte has done a ton for the Texas experience. Its night and day from what it was even 5 years ago. They now block off many streets and its packed. Have a midway and Bevos Corner.

I was very impressed when i went to a game last year. He also hired the Bama AV in game guy 2 years ago because he was so impressed when he was in Tuscaloosa.

I don’t care if they hired Nick Saban and Paul Prudhomme, Texas fans will never fit in the SEC.

Norman is literally a suburb of Oklahoma City. 20 minute drive in I-35. Tons of hotel options there.

Anyone know what sections in the stadium will be for LSU fans?

If you don’t want to stay near Norman you can always stay in Ardmore an hour and 15 mins south of Norman. They have a big ole Hilton Garden Inn right off the interstate
