Why isnt Storz going to be given a chance to play 1B? Isnt that his natural position? Having a 6'6" glove at first and a steady bat would help more than pitching I would think.

Why do you say that? We should have a very deep staff next year. Unless you don't expect any of the freshman pitchers on staff to improve, I don't see how we would be worse. Assuming Hess signs, he and Bain should be the only pitchers on staff we lose.

Storz has a big bat but its very raw. Like more raw than slaughter raw

Forgot about Beloso, he will get at bats at DH and contend for 1B and should be ok from a draft standpoint

I agree with Hess, he won't go as high this year but with another year with improvement as a starter he may go a lot higher next year and he has leverage. Guys like Singer, Kowar, Mize, Pilkington will all likely be out of the SEC next year as well.

I know you said “Way too early” but a lineup now couldn’t be more irrelevant before the draft. Depending on who we get we could have 3-4 freshman starting positions and one or two in the rotation. Also, it might not be completely crazy to think Watson can come back. If he’s not a top 3 round pick then he could actually have a decision to make

Hess
Watson
Duplantis
Gilbert

Those were the 4 underclassmen we’ve all been watching.

Watson by all accounts will still be a top 75 pick, he hasn’t shown consistently but they’re not going to pass up someone at 20 years old and his speed and glove. He’s shown burst of power which is a plus.

Hess is the biggest question mark because he still needs to develop a third pitch and is only a sophomore. If he wants to he could negotiate for first round money and if he doesn’t get it know that’s he’s one of the premier arms for the 2019 class.

Duplantis should go unless he gets a slap in the face offer, he’s earned it.

Gilbert’s stock is free falling, not a bad thing for LSU hoping to keep him another season.

I think if CJ Willis makes it to campus, he will start over Feduccia.

That being said, I think Watson and Dup are both gone. Hess is 50/50. If he gets drafted in top 5 rounds, I think he is gone. Everyone else should be back and that includes Gilbert.

Gilbert will be back to his dominant pitching next season. He will be in the bullpen and not relied on as a starter.

I notice you didn't mention his base running skills...

This is pointless to make bc there’s a number of players that can stay like Watson and duplantis.
