2011 faced a lot more variety of offenses than did '03 and was up to the task every time.

The DL of Sam, Brockers, Logan, and Mingo was not to be trifled with either.

Finally, Chad Lavalais was virtually unblockable in '03. He does not get enough mention when all-time great discussions come up.

That's why they could blitz so much. You really need lockdown corners to bring six or seven.

Hard to tell. Spread offenses in 2011. We were very good at containing those offenses.

Different styles of defense

The DEs on the 2003 team were a lot thicker than the DEs on the 2011 team
