The bad is that despite EVERYONE seeing the offensive struggles in the Clemson, Tech and Florida games, LSU didn't really try to do anything different vs. Ole Miss.

The Clemson win gave LSU a two game margin for error to reach the CFP. Ole Miss is not a great team. Good, but not great. Burning one of those two "mulligans" on Ole Miss with road games at Alabama and OU, along with a Vandy offense that can at least put up some points, was not ideal.

If this game was FINALLY the impetus for the coaching staff to accept their offensive approach sucks and make the necessary changes, then it could be a positive. If not, we'll be sitting on here in December lamenting another lost opportunity pretending that the Music City bowl has any relevance whatsoever.

As did the OL, but they don’t have good ones.

Or is this the part where we convince ourselves this is a one off, ignoring the first 4 games..or do we take the path of assuming Ole Miss is a top 2-3 team in the nation and we are still really good. Ignoring Clemson and UF being dog crap.

You’re wrong. It was every bit as bad as it seemed.

This is a reasonable take so expect irrational responses from most on here.

The game was VERY winnable. That’s what’s so frustrating

You watched a replay? Why? And then decided it was as bad as it seemed? You’re right, though. It was worse.

If somehow we get the run game going

Serious question:

After watching this offense for 5 games and watching them struggle to run in all of them (even the ring game be SLU was not great), what gives you any reason to think it will improve?

Really, just 1 reason?

It’s delusional at this point to think that mid season we will suddenly learn how to run the football

Ole Miss had the worst run defense out of anyone we’ve played so far and we couldn’t move the ball vs a 3-4 man front.

We know this already. It will be Jarret Lee all over again.

gtfo with this nonsense.

Jarrett Lee has a winning record at LSU in case you missed it.

So you're saying that this team will drastically improve over the bye week? What are you basing that off? This offense has not improved at all since the first game of the season. They actually appear to have regressed.

For this team to be this inept on offense, it's fundamentally a coaching problem. Therefore, until new coaches are brought in, the product we have seen is what we'll continue to see. The past few seasons, the defense was horrible. Do you recall it improving at any point during the season?

Under BK whatever is broken never gets fixed until the season is complete....if it gets fixed at all. IMHO BK has absolutely no idea how to fix the offensive issues. After EVERY loss he's suffered at LSU, he's always in a daze. He has that deer in the headlights look as if he has no clue as to what went wrong. Go back and pull up the after-game interviews of all our losses.

BK may be a decent coach but he's definitely not cut out to coach in the SEC. He should've stayed at ND where he only had 1 or 2 big games a season and usually had substantially more talent than 90% of the teams on his schedule.

I have no doubt this will happen. Hell, he shite his pants in Baton Rouge last year against them. Nuss is what he is, an average second string QB who looks fantastic against lesser opponents and mediocre against ranked teams.

I think this is unlikely. But if it happens, I like how LSU’s defense matches up against Bama’s offense. Simpson isn’t a dynamic playmaker and they run a more straightforward offense. I think LSU’s defense can shut them down.

Also depends on how terrible the offense plays though. Repeated 3 and outs will yield the same results we saw on Saturday.
