Rewatching some of the games and it might have been the case

He was good, honestly I feel JaCoby Stevens was the most consistent all year. Obviously Stingley was a stud too.

He was one of the best. Big fast guy in the middle plugging the run game.

There was certainly a few games that he was. He was an absolute consistent force all year in the middle and one of the best for sure.

Most unheralded- maybe. But I don’t think “best” when you had Fulton, Stingley, Queen, and even Lawrence when he was at full strength. Make no mistake though - I think we will miss the big fella more than some are willing to admit.

Yeah there was a clear top 3 in postseason play.

Stingley vs UGA
Chaisson vs OU
Queen vs Clemson

And do you remember last year’s camp when Shelvin and Siaki Ika were battling for the starting nose tackle spot ?....they were literally neck and neck . I believe Ika will have a break out season this year

Rashard Lawrence made huge plays all year. Tipped pass against bama in 1st quarter saved a td and kept the 1st half momentum.

Queen was the MVP of the D. He was in on 3 plays early in the TX game on the GL where he saved TD’s. He had the INT against Bama before half that help put us up 3 scores. He wrecked shite in the playoffs. He balled out in the biggest games when it mattered.

Definitely beat DL

But I’d put him behind Stingley Fulton and Queen at least.

Ika is going to be really good too
Shelvin is sort of underrated
No one moved him off the ball

He even got into the backfield a good bit

I would say yes and no. He was the best at causing our defense to run on all cylinders. When he wasn't playing well or was hurt rest of the team struggled a bit. At the end of the year he was getting double teamed every single play so that's why he was not showing up. He was crucial last year. defense was not good without him.

naw, I thought neil farrel was the best Lineman, and queen was probably the best overall though there was a ton of talent out there.
