They had kind of resolved the Funes stuff awhile ago. What really started the madness was Guice getting arrested this past summer, then those girls coming out of nowhere making all those allegations about past incidents, and then the USA Today articles that followed once girls started talking. That's when shite kind of hit the fan.

No this stems from the Funes and FB violations. LSU didn't want the WW saga involved in it with NCAA but that shipped sailed. What you are seeing now is FB trying to get ahead of those punishments. The recent problems have yet to really hit. LSU just hired a law firm and invited DOJ to be part of the review process. The problems off the field haven't even started I am sorry to say.

The main part for football is the Funes/OLOL

WHAT!!!!!! Un-Reported Title 9 allegations are FEDERAL and will far out weigh any $180,000 given to vidal Alexandars dad for a no show job!

The South BR/Catholic High good ole boy network has not been a positive for LSU or Baton Rouge. Woodward is one of them too, so we'll see.

Just seems like if this happened somewhere else like Ole Miss they would of put the program in the ground

Meh, the NCAA has shown they have no teeth anymore. They never put anyone in the ground. They haven't done a thing to Baylor. They didn't do shite to UNC. They basically reneged on everything they had done to Penn St. They did nothing to Miami. Ole Miss honestly got off pretty light too. The last program to really get hammered by the NCAA was USC for stuff that happened with Reggie Bush from 2004-2005.

Funes was a "minimal tip of the spear" Yea he got caught following through on a dam strong offer to the parents.

No he got caught embezzling. You don’t pay for recruits on payment plans. There is also evidence that most of these no show jobs were funneling money ack to Funes.

There isn’t even allegations that the football team did that. The reported information is really bad for our tennis coaches and the Title IX department as a whole. But honestly, most schools have bad Title IX departments. Universities are not equipped to prosecute rape.

Vidal Alxander's dad didn't get paid $180,000, he laundered that amount of money for Funes and kept some portion of it. Funes stole a total of $550,000 from OLOL. He wasn't just giving all that money to other people to keep

My guess is he’s a Parkview guy. It’s pathetic either way. You really think there’s a conspiracy because of where people went to fricking high school?

The Title9 stuff is completely separate from what the OP is asking about.

He’s asking about the current NCAA/IARP investigation and the looming sanctions in football and basketball. (Some of which we have already self-imposed)

The Title9 stuff is a completely different animal and will have its own set of ramifications and fallout. It is NOT a part of the current NCAA/IARP case.

The LSU scandal has sexual assault, financial shenanigans and God knows what else. And we're not one of the bluebloods who can get away with shite like that.

Pay attention to what happens with NC State, that should give an indication what this new board will do

You mean the ones that alerted multiple people within the university and AD at the time and it was then disregarded or covered up?

You really need to go read the case file if you are going to comment on this, many many other athletes named! $550k is a drop in the bucket. All of this had already been addressed with penatlies. All of these new imposed penalties are from the USA TODAY ARTICLE

Will Wade tape started it all.

Writes like Wolken and Forde became vindictive because they couldn't get their allegation to stick. They kept pushing and eventually more of a microscope went on the athletic dept. Funes happened. Then OBJ went full retard. Then they went back to the sexual assault issue once Guice was arrested again for beating up his GF or whatever

Then why did LSU try to keep the NCAA from lumping the FB and Basketball programs together, as late as September? How would LSU know what to self impose for Title9 problems if they just started a review last week?

Maybe but idk. LSUs arguement is that this was a rogue booster who involved a football players parent in a money laundering and embezzlement scheme. This wasn’t football related, but we know it’s bad. 8 scholarships and 1 postseason ban is no joke.

People can say “bowl ban when we’re a losing team in a Covid year” all they wants it’s still a really big payday.
