Was the Funes Scandal the Start of this Madness

Does it blow anyone’s mind of how we have gotten away with the Funes (Catholic High Alum) scandal? For those of you who don’t know what happen in short Funes stole cancer money that was donated from Our Lady of the Lake and gave it to players parents. And this is only what they found out imagine what is going on behind the scenes. Why didn’t they come out on our athletic department. With the Guice (Catholic High Alum) sexual assault scandal coming up do you think the NCAA will do nothing about it like they blew over the Funes topic.

Because I only Remember one and it seems like the dad was just in on an embezzlement scheme considering the payments continued 2 years after Alexabder left the team and up until the guy was caught.
And when you say “they found out” remember there was a federal investigation. They tracked down all the missing money.

Just seems like if that happen to other teams they would of had the NCAA involved as well and been under some kind of sanction

That process is still playing out. We have already reduced scholarships by 4 per year and implemented a 1-year Bowl ban. Most expect the NCAA to add on to those penalties.
A good guess would probably be an additional 5-10 scholarships per year and an additional 1-2 year Bowl ban.
The IARP is still going through the process...it is a lumped case-football and basketball. My guess is they’ll rule on it sometime in 2021, but I’m just guessing.

They had kind of resolved the Funes stuff awhile ago. What really started the madness was Guice getting arrested this past summer, then those girls coming out of nowhere making all those allegations about past incidents, and then the USA Today articles that followed once girls started talking. That's when shite kind of hit the fan.

A bowl ban for a COVID year and a losing record this was for the Odell money. Give me a break if you think the NCAA will be that easy to us.

No that’s like a level 3 violation.
Under 2000 and it was returned when the school became aware.
You don’t get a Bowl Ban for that.

No...the OBJ thing is nothing. While it is indeed a part of the overall case, it’s a very small part. The main part for football is the Funes/OLOL
The oBJ stuff, by itself, would be a slap on the wrist. We wouldn’t self-impose scholarship reductions and a bowl ban for that.

Funes was a "minimal tip of the spear" Yea he got caught following through on a dam strong offer to the parents. But, Compared to hiding Rape allegations, hiding domestic abuse and sexual assalt (over, and over, and over, and over)!
Funes is serving time. It's time for the LSU Administration that turned their back on all these allegations to do their time!

You realize this was investigated and prosecuted by the Feds right? Funes went to prison. This wasn't an NCAA investigation where they couldn't find shite because they didn't have subpoena power. All the people that helped him launder money from the hospital rolled over on him to avoid prison time. Yes, they know exactly how much money was taken from the hospital. This isn't a "well, what about the stuff they didn't find?!?" They found everything

Because only one of the players' families involved was an active player when it happened and the scheme with his family beginning 2012. All the people who were in the AD at that time are gone. Do you think we should be responsible and culpable for former players like Rohan Davey breaking the law?
