Lol you're on a witch hunt to blame somebody when there was no solution that was practical or desirable for the parties involved. Your level of critical thinking is laughable.

It isn't the team
"Hey hotel, don't book a quarter of your rooms the saturday of a football game JUST in case we need them. How often will we need them? 1 time every hundred years or so"
It LSU gonna eat the cost, or the Hotel? because McNeese can't afford that shite every game.

He expects to force it into the contract that the opposing team pays for the extra night lol

AND LES had a BIG say in this also, didn't want to have a short week to prepare for State.

Do you really believe that LSU doesn't have a plan in place for situations like this? How the hell were we able to do it after Katrina and Rita? Both teams simply could not come to an agreement.

How does "critical thinking" fit in with the announcement that we would play IF we could start BEFORE midnight....then promptly CANCEL at 10:35 pm ? How does that fit your line of thinking/excuses ?
Our AD was NOT prepared = FACT, how can you dispute this ??

is it that hard to comprehend that the athletic trainers stepped in after the 4 hour delay and said this isn't a good idea to send the players back out there at this point?
There also wasn't some "grand announcement" that they would for sure play the game before midnight if possible. That was media members passing along the rule.

To Mickey and Gray Tiger,
Let's agree to disagree. I think we should have had a contingency plan, and you think it's impossible to any alternate plan.
Going forward, knowing that we now have introduced Lightning into the fear of liability, and we have just experienced that a game CAN BE totally cancelled due to lightning...
Joe can choose to:
1. Do nothing different.
2. Consider executing a contingency plan.
He no longer has the excuse that he couldn't forsee this happening.
I'll try to bow out now, as I don't think we're making progress. By now, people have made up their minds either way.

We can agree to disagree, sure. I just wish someone could tell me how to handle hotels and usually flights for opposing team. It's a pretty simple question. You aren't gonna force every opposing team to stay overnight so there isn't a practical solution.

This is for those who thought we needed to restart at midnight.
Player's day starts at 7am on Saturday. Their day is on a schedule all the way up until kickoff. After being up for 12 hours preparing, we start game and go into delay. Players are loose and go into locker room for what they're hoping is a quick turnaround. Hours pass with no timetable. Most have not had a real meal in 12 hours. So now we have players who havent eaten, who arent really loose anymore and have been up for 16 hours having to try and play a game. Is it that hard to comprehend what the trainers are saying now?

All this.

Unless there is a natural disaster, we are not going to push a game like this back a day.
The logistics needed to have every thing ready JUST IN CASE are too much for every home game every year.
We will play a conference game for sure, but not a McNeese St.
Plan A is play it at the appropriate time
Plan B is wait it out
Plan C is cancel it.
For rent a wins we would rather just move on.

Spot on analysis. Both Alleva & Bonnette have said the LSU medical staff was opposed to resuming the game for the reasons you stated.

It's really time to move on from this. I am upset just like everyone else that I didn't get to see LSU Football after waiting impatiently for 8 months. It was a bad situation that didn't have a solution that involved finishing the game.
Just because we are upset doesn't mean that someone is to blame for it. It isn't anyone's fault, it just is what it is.

For those thinking universities should have a block of hotel rooms as part of the plan.
Teams travel with a party of 150 at minimal. This includes players, staff, coaches and other reps of their school. I'm not even including the band in this number. Most teams do not return to their hotel after the game. It's straight from the stadium to the airport. Let's add the band now who can be from 100-300 people. So now a teams party is 400 people. Do you expect a hotel to just keep 200+ rooms readily available on gameday for an incident that happens once in 100 years? No because that hotel will go out of business.

you are correct but the hotel rooms are a drop in the bucket compared to the logistics it takes to put on Game Day at Tiger Stadium...

This thread should be deleted. It's game week and we start conference play.

Grassy I understand that for some reason you and others have this hard-on for Alleva. In this case as I am sure is the norm, you are wrong. I don't expect that reason and critical thinking will sway you and those like you.
You might try to get a copy of today's Moscona program. He has had guests on that have answered the questions that reasonable people might have.
As for the rest of you, hang onto your hatred and ignorance. It's all you have.
