Great toss and catch there, you're right. And it will always be the play where Les was portrayed as a genius but it was a dumb call with that much time left on the clock but he got bailed out. I think around 30 seconds left on the clock after the previous play and he let it get to 8 before Flynn snapped it. The snap happens a second later or the play takes a few seconds longer and we're out of time if Flynn can't connect and it's being talked about like the Ole Miss game.
But again, that part doesn't take away from the throw.

3rd and 17 was made possible by CEH's blitz pickup which gave Joe just enough time to get it off. Don't think that gets brought up enough.
What also doesn't get brought up enough is CEH missed the blitz pickup on the previous play that put them in the 3rd and 17 situation

Burrow to Marshall in the SECCG along the backside of the endzone was a ridiculous throw

My freshmen year. Almost got taken out by one of the goalposts as it came down.

Other huge pass plays:
Jefferson to Randle TS in 2009 for 75 yards
M Randall to Doucet in the Swamp just before end first half in 2004 to lead a tremendous comeback win.

If we are talking about the best single throw it will almost assuredly be one made by Jamarcus. He had the single best arm talent by a wide margin. When he was on the balls he could throw were unbelievable and simply came out of his hand different than any other qb. Once again I’m only discussing individual completed passes not anything else related to the position or career of these players.

The swing pass to Addai to take the lead at the end of the 4th was better IMO. He drive through a Florida defender to will himself into the endzone on 3rd down to win that game. Hard to put plays that happened in the first half of a game up there with the rest

Agreed. The throw he made to Lafell off his back foot against Notre Dame was one of the most ridiculous throws I've ever seen. He threw the ball rolling to his right off one foot from his own 35 to Notre Dame 10 on the opposite side of the field to hit Lafell running in stride for a TD. He had a throw against Ole Miss that same year where he spun out of several tackles to hit Doucet for a bomb down the sideline

hell, there are a number of throws in this highlight reel that are otherworldly arm talent

Earthquake pass, not mentioned enough in this list.
Maybe a ‘routine’ pass but perfectly executed on 4th and 10 with a bit over a minute left, and was the same play that had been run 3 plays earlier and failed.

Tennessee won the toss and LSU went on offense first. Saban said he didn't mind because he liked going on offense first in OT and liked taking a shot to the endzone on the first play to put pressure on the other team. Worked out pretty good.

This is the type of stuff that always confounds me. I'm glad Les is gone, thanks for your service, all that type stuff.
But "he let it get to 8"? FLYNN let it get to 8. Let's at least be honest in our ridiculous criticism of a play from 15 years ago.

Hard to say "best throw" because of so many contenders.
I will say it was probably the most relaxed pass in LSU history. Rohan just looks like he is just tossing around in pregame. It really is amazing considering the pressure of the moment.
GEAUX TIGERS!

Quarterbacks hurry up the snap because the sidelines tells them to hurry up the snap

Not saying it’s up there with those others, but each of those plays completely turned those games around. Both became signature wins.

This wasn't even a catch. If replay had been around this is called incomplete. Early bobbles the ball and doesn't get full control until his entire body is outside the end zone. Hell of a throw though.

Oh, ok. Players never mess up or do anything that is counter to what coaches are telling them. Is it possible the coaches said "snap it at 12 seconds" and the team just was slow to get set?
In your mind, no - there's only one answer here - shite on Les.
