You bet your arse it's worth it!

Of course he was worth the 2019 season! But how many more threads are we going to have on this same issue??
O did good to lead us up to that glorious 2019 season, but for whatever reason(s), he couldn't handle the success or maintain the program at a high level.
I know some people laugh at the idea, but like others, I think the 1st domino seemed to be O's divorce. As much as he loves the company of the young co-eds since his divorce, other than getting a guarantee on his salary, everything else has been a dumpster fire for LSU football. O will be gone soon enough, but no sane person is going to trade away that 2019 season!!

Beat (Pre-Season)
#1 Clemson (14-1,Fiesta Bowl Champ, CFP Runner Up, ACC Champ)
#2 Alabama (11-2, Citrus Bowl Champ)
#3 Georgia (12-2, Sugar Bowl Champ, SECe Champ)
#4 Oklahoma (12-2, Big 12 Champ)
#8 Florida (11-2, Orange Bowl Champ)
#10 Texas (Well.... 8-5, won the Alamo Bowl)
#12 Texas A&M (Well.... 8-5, won the Texas Bowl)
#16 Auburn (Well.... 9-4, Lost the Outback bowl)
Others
Georgia Southern (7-6, lost the Liberty Bowl)
Northwestern State (3-9)
Vandy (3-9)
Utah State (7-6, Lost Frisco Bowl)
MSU (6-7 Lost Music City Bowl)
Ole Miss (4-8)
Arky (2-10)
Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Oklahoma went a combined 60-9 and LSU was 5 of those loses.
I think we trailed 1 time the entire season by double digits, in the title game. We won 42-25 (We missed a FG, a wide open TD pass, and kneeled on the 5 yard line. Could have been way way way worse....)
And a forgotten about stat, but at the end of 2019, LSU was on a win streak v. every single other SEC team.

I compare O to Dale and Pawl, they all got too comfortable and rested on their laurels. Though Dale never won a championship, he did more for LSU basketball than anyone else had previously and did put us in the national conversation.
Some folks simply get to a point they begin coasting.

2019 will be the best season in LSU, and arguably CFB history. 100% worth it. Still plenty of talent for the next coach to play with too. We really just need a process and culture reboot.

Yes IF we don't turn into Tennessee for the next 10 years. If so, then no.

I actually think he did a great job, until his divorce. That just seems to have ruined him. He went slap arse crazy doing whatever he wanted to do. Women, running off Aranda, yelling at coaches...etc. No quality coordinator wanted to work for him after all that. We give Brady all the credit, but we really owe Ensminger the lion's share of the credit. He was the one holding the staff together like glue. And while Brady's innovative ideas helped get our offense out of the stone age, it was Ensminger teaching him how to be an OC.
And I digress; Some guys can reach the top of the mountain but can't stay there. It's one thing winning a championship, but it's another sustaining a dynasty.

Is there a better alternative than the best CFB team in history?
Maybe could be replicated but certainly not topped
I have this dream of 2019 offense with the 2011 defense. Or the 2003 defense.

It actually worked out pretty perfectly. We won the title and O is still fired only two years later. If we nail this coaching hire I honestly couldn't ask for anything better
Win a title and still fire the idiot head coach soon after that's the dream from the moment he was hired. We all knew this is how it would end just didn't realize we'd luck into a 15-0 season along the way

Yes. If you would have told me in 2018 we would have that season and everything that came with it and this would happen after, I would sign up for that to happen every damn time.

Well, I guess the better option would be that we were all wrong about O and he continues to build on 2019.
