Yeah, I'm not sure what comparing the two proves. Troy is a better program than ODU, but LSU isn't playing away games at 20k seat C-USA stadiums. It's all relative, and they're both equally embarrassing losses.

Yes. They kicked the crap out of VT. Makes me wonder what they'd do to Florida State...

Va Tech's loss was worse. Way worse.

They lost by 14 points to a winless team. Gave up 28 points in the 4th quarter!!!!

Both losses were bad. There is no denying that.

But Troy went 11-2 last year.

I wasn’t aware ODU even had a football team.. so there’s that.

ODU started their football program in 2009... (I think.)

It was a pretty bad loss

LSU is better than VTech but Troy is better than ODU.

True, but the question was which was worse.

Come on, you can say it. Nobody's going to think you're being positive.

Old Dominion was an 0-3 FCS school. But fans that don't follow college football outside of LSU or the SEC don't even know that...

Nobody would know that because ODU is an FBS school and won a bowl two years ago.

ODU won by two scores and not only that, scored 49.

this is the part that got me.

I know this is a "shite on other HC/ prop up O" thread, but wtf happened here, Bud Foster?

Losing AT Old Dominion for a program like VT is more understandable than losing at home to Troy for a program like LSU.

I should be surprised that this got downvoted to hell, but I'm not.

ESPN had Va Tech at 99.1% chance to win or something like that...Biggest upset in 20 years

I mean, we're talking about a program in VT that went TO Old Dominion to play.

If that doesn't tell you enough about the difference in expectations, nothing will.

What they really want to argue is whether Troy is better than ODU, and the answer is no, but it's also irrelevant to the topic at hand.

Probably a combination of things. There were questions surrounding their inexperience on defense entering the season. They didn't play the prior weekend due to Florence. And the performance in Tallahassee looks less impressive every time FSU takes the field.

Fuente was pretty hot after the game, saying he liked his team better when everybody thought they weren't very good. I think the defense just came out flat, unprepared and uninspired. Their offense moved the ball fine, even after Jackson got injured.

Terrible loss.

But why is VT playing AT OD anyway?? Terrible scheduling.

Why?

Surely you don't think that proves anything.

Might be the worst loss ever for a Power 5 school. They gave up 600+ yards and almost 50 points to a team that was winless including a 52-0 loss to Liberty.
