Indeed, sir.

And the he goes to the pros and gets 3 super bowl rings with the Patriots.

From Carencro, La. USA.

He'll have his name in lights around the upper deck in Tiger Stadium.

If he, Cecil, wouldn't have gotten hurt at the Vanderbilt game and had the off field problems he could have been one of the best and would have taken some yards away from Kevin. However, he was hurt and had the problems thus he will be distant memory 20 years from now and Kevin will have his name in Tiger Stadium!

Kevin and Dalton, I would have to say a tie for me! I grew up as a kid watching Dalton and watched Kevin play while I was in school so both great memories (maybe Kevin edging out since I was there and a part of it as a student).

Kevin Faulk is definitely the guy because he actually did, and had a great career.

Do I think he was the best running back while he was at LSU?
NO. Cecil was a better athlete, pure running back at its finest. The only thing he had over Collins was his receiving imo.

Now we all know how the two turned out, but IMO Cecil Collins was the best pure athlete to ever suit up in purple and gold. Too bad he had the brain of a ferret

Not even close, but i see you kidding , Kevin was a special player . One of my favorite and i got to watch Charles Alexander as a kid. Dalton was good but i would give the call to KF

Faulk is #1 because of what he brought to the game on special teams as well as rushing. The only one else in the discussion is Cannon

Cannon was not only a punt returner but the punter on special teams. Most teams would punt the ball away from Billy or out of bounds. No one who was at the Ole Miss game will ever forget his 89 yd.punt return and then his play at linebacker in the same game to keep Ole Miss from scoring on fourth and goal.He was a rare combination of speed and strength.Once in a track meet he ran the 100 yd dash in 9.4 sec.and threw the shot 54ft.One track coach commented that if Billy would lose 15 lbs.he would win the gold medal in the 100 in the Olympics or he could have gained 15 lbs and won the shotput.Billy won the Heisman but in most peoples opinion he should have won it twice.

That was the only game I ever left early....I was so pissed...I was afraid of beating children next to me....so I left.....only to hear the crowd from the parking lot roaring to Faulks 3 4th quarter TD's.

WOW, most in this thread don't know anything about LSU football history. Total fail. Cannon, Alexander and believe it or not a guy who never played RB, Tommy Casanova is number 3. Charlie Mac said he was the best RB he ever saw, but he needed he on defense more. Dalton was great, as was Faulk, different offences, different times. Can't compare yards and touches. Cannon was Shot champ and 100 yrd dash champ was Well as the best RB in college football !

He was certainly the best I saw. Cecil Collins was great but he didn't play long enough to be judged the best.

Discussions like this are completely stupid. It's impossible to reach a conclusion...

Steve Van Buren and Jim Taylor had more legendary NFL careers than Faulk. Billy Cannon won the Heisman, and Jerry Stovall finished 2nd in Heisman voting (and most thought he was robbed). Where is Faulk's Heisman talk?

If you want to discuss what a RB contributed to his team, then where are Faulk's SEC championships, or national championships?

Faulk was great, but before Cecil Collins broke his leg (and then went completely haywire), Faulk was only the 2nd best running back on the team.

"All Eyes On 3" was a lot of fun to watch, and I'll always be grateful to him for coming to LSU at a time when we were not very attractive, but you can't intelligently say that he was LSU's best RB ever.

Faulk was a highlight reel. His lateral movement was amazing, and then he could hit too speed in 3-4 strides.
Also, he had the best hands of anyone I've ever seen. The way he could run up at full speed and catch a punt above his shoulders and never miss his stride...

He was my neighbor for a year when I worked at the Vet school. I NEVER asked him for an autograph.

GTG I concur, If he would not have broke his ankle or foot against Vandy and had all that free time on his hands to do B&E's he would have been the greatest. Best two game stretch I have ever seen against Auburn and Moo St.

Kevin Faulk was absolutely amazing, but Cecil Collins was the better every-down back. That being said, I'd take Faulk every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Faulk was a complete back. He was both talented and a team leader. Leadership, combined with talent, is the holy grail of a football player and Faulk is second to none.

Faulk rates right up there. Hard to compare him to players like Cannon and Stovall. I also was a big Harvey Williams fan; don't forget Terry Robiskie, and some oldsters like Jimmy Taylor and Steve Van Buren. Charles Alexander was a freak -- 230 lb tailback w/ 4.3 speed, however, his speed was straightaway speed and he wasn't shifty like Faulk and Dalton Hilliard.
