A complete conversion to a Dome is needed at the current location.

Skenes starts but throws 40 pitches or 3 innings, whichever comes first. Then you feed the ball to Hurd.

The two best hitting teams got bounced, so I guess we’re all lucky to be here.
You gotta be dumb as frick to think this. Average alone does not signify “best” in baseball. There’s a reason I provided XBHs. If you look at slugging and OBP, the two best teams are still alive.

Their hitting has absolutely sucked. They got way outhit by Stanford and needed a miraculous play to get out of a first and third no outs vs us.

Would Coleman be available tonight?

I would think only Herring and Ack are not available. But we won’t see Coleman.

he is not a huge strikeout guy (131 Ks in 108 innings),

1:1 or better makes you a big strikeout guy

Once Skenes is in the game he’s going as long as he can. It’s interesting that all these posters think LSU is just going to tee off on Lowder who is probably the 2nd best pitcher in the country

So you’re saying the lack of home runs is responsible for the lower average?

I don’t believe that.

He’s 6th in the nation in strikeouts.

He has a lot of innings. His teammate, Hartle has more strikeout and has pitched over 20 fewer innings.

Hell, Sullivan, who pitched last night has 111 strikeouts in only 69 innings. Having 131 strikeouts in 108 innings is not a spectacular strikeout rate.

We've seen a ton of guys that rank up there with Lowder in one way or another: The top 4 guys from Tennessee, the two lefties from Arkansas, Lebarron Johnson from Texas, Brody Brecht from Iowa, a few others. We haven't had success against all of them, but we've seen a ton of great pitching this year so our guys won't be scared of anyone.

Lowder would only be at about 84 strikeouts on the year if he threw as many innings as Sullivan, mathematically speaking.

Uhhhh...We've tee'd off on plenty of good pitchers this year, but no, I'm not suggesting that. I'm saying that our bullpen has given up 12 hits and 2 runs in the last 18 innings...even better numbers if you add Hurd's line in from Monday. Give Skenes a taste, but go back to that bullpen with Hurd/Ack/Coop/Guidry/Money/Collins/Dutton/Little.

ETA: And now you have Skenes starting on Sunday against Florida
