Give us SPECIFIC coaching reasons why you think Wade would be a bad hire, based on your analysis of all of the VCU games you've watched in the past two years.

Be specific as to style of play, clock management, etc.

I saw him coach against LSU in the Bahamas. The team looked very well coached, they played hard, and they seemed to be organized. But of course they were playing against LSU..............

He's risky but after doing some reading I'd be on board.
Of course

In football, a program like ours has the benefit to watch a young coach go prove it somewhere else before he have to hire them.

In basketball, we are going to have to be the one willing to take the risk of nabbing a great young coach.

I like his aggressive defense like the energy his teams play with and I can't really give you a time he's mismanaged clock. What scares me is he's taken over for a flop of a coach he hasn't met that coaches success after the program was established and I haven't seen any special players on their roster since he's been there. No special guards and no size at all. He's a cookie cutter mid major house keeper. He's a homeless persons les miles and he's never proven the ability to build a program or beat ppl who have him outgunned. And you have to do one of those things to be able to win at this level.

So, Chattanooga to VCU isn't advancing past mid-major. I get that. But, he's had success at both schools. Thus, possibly earning a chance to advance. If he were to be hired at LSU, would that notqualify as advancing? Seems like this guys argument of not advancing us somewhat of a catch 22.

We shouldn't refuse to hire a guy just because he hasn't had success at a big 5 school. We might miss out on a quality coach from a smaller university. We should definitely be considering coaches at smaller schools that have had success. Wade fits that criteria.

I think Alleva is going to be reluctant to give a 34-year-old over 2 million a year without a single conference title.

Yes, I am all aboard the Wade Train. I don't think LSU could dream of a better mid-major candidate. However, I just don't see LSU offering the 2.3-2.5 it'd take for Wade to leave VCU. I really hope I'm wrong, baws

I would be on board with Wade, but it takes a lot of optimism and hope to project him as a success at LSU.

I would prefer him to Kermit, based mainly on youth, but Kermit's resume is tremendously better.

The lack of success of past VCU coaches worries me. Literally none have done well when they have moved on to P5. Capel, Grant, Smart have all failed. Smart could still turn Texas around, but they were the worst team in the Big 12 this year in his second year.

I agree with you there I'd take Wade over Kermit.

You have completed the grandslam posting of a TD moron.

Somehow comparing someone to a liberal in a sports thread.

And Crean's won the Big 10 three times. This is a no brainer. If Crean wants in, you hire Crean. You don't hire Will Wade over Crean under any circumstances

You hire Wade if we're at Kermit level.

The Nebraska football analogies are accurate. You point to not landing any Indiana players.

He had the 22nd ranked class last year.
29th in 2015.
22nd
4th
8th

As references. Those are all solid classes. IU is not Duke, UNC, KU, UK no matter how much they want to be.

I chalk that up to coincidence, to be honest. Jury still out on Smart...Texas should be good next year.

Has a better conference record and very similar overall record, made the tourney both years with a 1-2 record. Beat higher ranked OSU last year and took Oklahoma with Heild to the wire.

Also had a higher average SOS his 2 years than Shaka had during his stretch.
