The mid major top 25? Look I posted the link and shared info that I just read online. The big east is a mid major not an NAIA team they're a mid major I'm sorry that's what they are.

That is pretty much what White did at Tech before he got the Florida job.

White avged what 27-28 wins a year? Wade has never reached that once not even at east west state tech.

quote:Well, it is even more confusing than that. The typical Big East is absolutely a basektball power 5 conference.
I think most people who follow college basketball consider the Big East to be a major conference.
But they lost Syracuse, Notre Dame, Louisville and Uconn

Kermit is an F. He's had 2 solid years at MTSU. He's been there 15 years.
His resume is that of a mediocre mid major coach. He's been to the NCAA tournament twice in 15 years at MTSU. He's won 20 games plus twice at MTSU.
I love Marshall, but it's not happening. Crean is realistic. He's probably the best realistic hire. He had a very solid tenure at IU. It just wasn't good enough at IU.
It's like LSU firing Miles. If Miles were 50, and LSU had fired him for the same type of success, Ole Miss would have killed to hire him.
That's Crean to me.

Right. It was basically be the Johnny jones hire all over again

Ill say it again. College basketball has NO power conferences NONE. But mid major conferences as referred to in football are again considered mid majors in basketball. The big east dissolved in 2013 it's a different conference now and is considered a mid major. The reason they've done away with power conferences is so there would be no limit on teams that could make it because of conference.

It's worse. I wasn't a huge fan of Jones, but Kermit would be an absurdly bad hire, and I'm immediately off defending Alleva if he hires Kermit.
Wade is an ok hire. Crean is a great hire.

He's actually got a career .670 winning percentage against his conference opponents in an 18 year D1 career. That's pretty consistent winning percentage against teams of your own caliber. Not to mention that he is trending up in his time MTSU, not down.

Firstly, Crean inherited a total mess at IU. He turned it around by the 3rd year. He had 2 bad years since then. I'll take that IU production at LSU. He's a solid recruiter. He was in a pretty good bball conference. They won 27 games last year. It's a lot like Miles.
We're hiring a younger Les Mikes for bball. I'm fine with that given our perception.

LSU jet that was in Richmond yesterday flew from Laffy to Youngstown, OH today. Do we make anything of this, or do you think it's non-basketball related?
Posted on 3/20/17 at 1:21 pm to Joe Mantegna
So how do we do this I answer the question and if it's the right answer you change the curriculum? Ok got it. White is doing it at present at Florida so.

White won the conference title 3/4 years at tech
He was 101-40 overall (.716), and 50-16(.758) in conference
He was a great future hire for UF

I think you are missing a few years on Kermit. He has been very solid for the past 6 years.
Mike White just made his first NCAA tournament in 6 years as a head coach.
