I agree. I wouldn't even say WW is a good recruiter. He's just willing to pay the most! Unfortunately, he's going to bring down the program once the NCAA gets through with him.

But that’s the issue here. He flat out came out in a recent presser and said that offense is what matters and defense not as much.

“the defense is better this year than any point last year”. Why didn’t you critique O for saying that but do it to wade?

ok, but if we played better defense, maybe we'd be 1st in the SEC.

You know, championships should be our goal, not just a good season.

Guys like him care more about being right than LSU winning. He’s mad he said Wade would never coach again back in 2018 and was wrong so now he pulls against him.

Pirate hates Wade because he had success faster than Orgeron. Think about how deranged a person has to be to think that way.

I really think we will be plateaued with him. No matter who he recruits, we are going to be second level below elite teams. For many, that is enough after seeing mediocrity for too long. He has been here long enough to make a sound judgment.

Him not playing basketball hurts because there are a lot of intricacies of the game you can pass on to your players that allow them to gain an edge over your opponent. X’s and O’s wise, he lacks, especially in the defensive category. Offensively, people give him a pass because they score well and have good offensive efficiency numbers but against athletic, defensively minded teams, they struggle with a one on one approach on offense.

Bruce Pearl didn't play college basketball. I'd say he's done pretty well. Scott Drew didn't play...his team is currently undefeated and ranked #2. Roy Williams played 2 years on the UNC J.V. team...he's won 3 championships. and been to 9 Final Fours. Point being, you don't HAVE to play to be a great coach (though most have)

LSU has been fine against good defensive teams for the most part in Wade's career. Where they struggle is when they can't outscore good offensive teams. They've played 3 top 50 offensive teams this year. In those games they allowed an average of 91 ppg and 54% shooting. You simply aren't going to win a lot of games allowing your opponent to shoot 54%. Hell, LSU shot 54%, scored 81 points on the road at St. Louis and LOST...because they couldn't stop SLU from scoring. Last year they went to VCU...in one of the most hostile environments LSU has played in a while...shot 52%, scored 82 (against one of the best defensive teams in the A-10) and LOST...because they allowed VCU to score 50 in the first half.

Simply put, while they have had a poor game here or there, LSU's offense is MORE than good enough to win just about every night. Wade's, not the team, but WADE'S flat out refusal to acknowledge that HIS approach on defense is inadequate is the only thing holding them back from potentially being a championship contender. He's a really good coach. But one with a flaw he's been unwilling to recognize. LSU might have a good defensive game here and there...but those have been the exception in Wade's tenure. Not the rule. At this point it has to be a matter of hubris on his part in that he is going to show everyone he's right despite the fact 4 years of data say otherwise.

Or course he doesn’t. Wade is off to the best start of any basketball coach in LSU history and is 7-8 wins away from eclipsing Brady’s best 4 year stretch well into his tenure despite inheriting the worst Conf record in program history. Guys like him couldn’t tell the difference between man to or zone defense in basketball and think we run some kind of street ball offense lol. They’re idiots.

Sometimes you might consider double checking your post before you hit send. Maybe you wouldn’t make insane comments like this.

You must’ve started watching basketball in the last 10 years. I watch Loyola Marymount hang 130 something 140 on LSU in the 90s. Yes it was in overtime but LSU had a 30 point lead and they came back and tied the game to send it to overtime. As far as Wade, none of you dumb asses know a fricking thing about his past. Go look up his teams and where they rank defensively. Go look at their rebounding. And don’t give me the shite that they were playing anyone. If anything the SEC was nobody with only UK consistently good the last 25 years. Yes every once in a while a teams like the LSU and Donovan led Florida teams make runs but they are not consistent. .

ok motherfuksr you know you can’t win a championship every year tight?

Think about what your dumbass just said.

You’re mad because LSU basketball is good but not a title favorite

You think we can just snap our fingers and go from outhouse to title contender in no time?

We’re good because he’s built a good program. It takes time, but if you fricking clowns keep trying to run off any decent coach we’re gonna end up with Johnny or Trent again.
