It was close, and a great slide, and I’m glad he was called safe……But I see the glove brush the jersey slightly before he touched the plate. I think he was out, but it doesn’t really matter…Tigers up to #20 and hopefully will get a win over #1 next

Glove 100% touches his shirt before his hand touches the base. Does that make him out?
Yes it would but unfortunately you are incorrect in your assessment which makes you wrong.

I believe I see Crews flex his chest muscles to avoid the tag, thus making his own jersey ruffle as the glove misses him.

Yep. He was clearly safe. Use both angles and its obvious

And Patrick Peterson was 100% in bounds. It is what it is - even if you are correct which I don’t think you are.

This is the correct evidence. Well done sir!

Don’t get me wrong - I’m glad the ref botched the call
He’s an umpire and he didn’t botch the call. What you’re seeing is the laces of the catcher’s mitt move and create the illusion that the jersey was ruffled. You can clearly see that it’s not the jersey moving if you look at it from that perspective

quote:nice screenshots. For me it’s the very end of the clip in the OP. I do not see definitive contact glove to Crews once, until catcher lands his mitt on Crews belt area. Crews already has more than a full palm on the plate when that contact occurs. Great call and confirmed on replay. Amazing slide too to avoid contact.
Everyone is focusing on this angle…
And ignoring this one…

He might be the best player in college right now but it’s not bc he executed a fundamental slide to avoid a tag

I can confidently say he is 100% safe based on the last 2 views they show

Anyone saying he is 100% out, or safe, is full of shite. It was too close to call. Can’t really argue convincingly either way.
You should go see an optometrist.

Like people said if you really pay attention you can tell those are the strings on the glove and not the jersey moving. The glove isn’t close to Crews’ chest at that point.

Was a thing of beauty. He is an incredible player and most teams can’t stop him.

100% he was out but still a good slide

Shiny. Too shiny. Oh and 100% you’re a retard so there’s that.
