I was in the student section when he did that. He was flipping me off, I take it personal.

I say do the ring of honor but dont retire any jerseys.
Faulk, Dorsey, Burrow and Daniels should be added to that. And i think LSU should do more to claim Hall of famers YA Tittle, Jim Taylor, and Van Buren as well.

if you have to retire numbers, keep it to Heisman trophy only, and make that the only criteria to avoid any controversy later.

Statues of living people are dumb.

“ Under a provision of the LSU jersey retirement bylaws established Jan. 1, 2007, the retirement of an athlete’s jersey in a particular sport does not preclude a current student-athlete in that sport from wearing the jersey number in that or any other sport, subject to the discretion of the head coach. This provision applies only to jerseys retired after January 1, 2007. The numbers worn by Maravich, Pettit, O’Neal, Cannon and Bertman may never again be worn by future student-athletes in their respective sports.”

Claim 1908 officially first

Serious question, why on god's green earth hasn't this been done already? Why does LSU leave a perfectly good natty just out there? It's recognized and everything. All these other programs claim a championship if some random dude named Bob said they were the best back in 1902.

I have to add Dorsey to this. He was not in the Heisman talk bc of the position he played.

LSU needs to get off its backside and place some names on the stadium facade. Joe Burrow. Jamar Chase. Dalton Hilliard. Kevin Faulk. Roy Winston. Johnny Robinson. Jayden Daniels. YA Tittle. AJ Duhe. Jimmy Taylor. Bert Jones. Charles Alexander...among others. It's as if the LSU brass believes the school has no football legacy after 100 years of play. It's insane.

Im so sick of the Dorsey talk. I loved Dorsey, but he belongs no where near these others. In fact Honey Badger deserves it more than Dorsey. Great player, but he is not on that level.

LSU has three numbers retired
#20 - Billy Cannon (first heisman winner)
#37 - Tommy Casanova (first three time all american)
#21 - Jerry Stovall (two time all conference, all american, SEC player of the year, CFB HOF).

37 and 21 are not retired. Stovall and Casanova had their jerseys retired (name up in the stadium).

The only retired numbers at LSU are: 20 for Cannon in football. 23, 33, and 50 for Maravich, Shaq, and Pettit in basketball. And 15 for Bertman in baseball.

Everything else is a retired jersey, meaning the number is still available to be worn.

If this doesn’t include Faulk it’s bullshite

I love, love Kevin Faulk but this is ridiculous. He made 1st team All-American once. No natty, no SEC championship. He had a long NFL career and got a few rings with the Pats, but they got more without him and he made zero Pro-Bowls.

Are we retiring every All-American 's jersey? Founette? Stingley? I'd honor the Honey Badger waaaay before Kevin Faulk, at least Tyrann was also a Heisman finalist.
