Does the pac-12 even exist anymore?

No. And in the 2 years LR was in it he couldn’t beat Utah.

I would be begging to play a Brian Kelly team in weekend 1.

These are the games I would be watching to exhaustion.

LR is a puss…but the dude knows offense. This game strikes me as a stage for Harold Perkins to enter the national discussion. Or maybe reintroduce himself to the world.

No one has seen LSU's defense play yet.

Exactly

LSU hasn't won a season opening game since 2019....vs. Georgia Southern. There doesn't seem like a better time to get LSU than week 1.

Plus, with the 12 team playoff strength of schedule is going to become a bigger factor than ever before. If there was EVER a time to play challenging non-conf. opponents this would be it in a new era were 2 and maybe even 3 losses won't keep you from competition for a national championship.

You play in the SEC, you don't need to schedule these games.

Who gives a frick? We watch this shite for entertainment. Watching LSU play Mogadishu State isn't entertaining.

Also the loss to FSU wouldn't have kept us out of a 12 team playoff either year

A win against a good team in the first game can also bolster our ranking at the end of the year. It also has LSU in the spotlight early on. I like it.

You may be assured, we want this game!

Tigers have already lost their opening game-- what is it now, 4 years in a row?

It absolutely would have last year. We were ranked 12th in the final rankings and the group of five team gets an automatic bid and wasn't ranked in the top-12 so we would have been the first team left out last season. If we hadn't lost to FSU we would have been safely in and ranked ahead of Mizzou at no. 8.

I’ve seen enough of sage Ryan and major burns to know we’re still in trouble

Totally irrelevant comparison. When LSU played UCLA and played FSU as the first games the last 2 seasons, the opponent had a game under their belt. It was LSU's first game both seasons. GIGANTIC advantage for UCLA and FSU. I have 0 problem with LSU playing a tough opponent the first game providing it is that team's first game also. Ausberry or what other idiot who agreed to this lopsided situation should never have agreed to that.

That explains why you aren't a head coach. Mystery solved.

Considering our recent record in season openers I would think that the situation would have been reversed.
