Like I have said many times. No matter what coach O and LSU does he will never get the credit he deserves. Too many on here were against the hire and they will never admit they were wrong. It’s actually sad if you think about it. Yet they call themselves fans.

So, I work closely with Hadens Son in law and have talked with Pat several times, but never about O's non hire formally just in passing. He knows my kid is @ LSU and he smiles and shakes his head often saying he wishes he could have made the USC and O relationship work. He stated regularly how much pressure he was under to NOT hire O because O was looked down upon based on his accent, and his unconventional coaching tactics. It did not fit the USC way. Haden received hundreds of emails every weekend from donors, and upper level critics that just didn't care for O. His SIL said Sunday eve and Monday Mornings were miserable for him, all damage control. Haden absolutely hated it, and liked O, but when the Billionaire donors are demanding he is released, his hands were tied. Everything added up finally where he pulled the cord, much like Swann just did. Couldn't take the BS outside donor influencers that steered that ship.

They were against hiring Orgeron because of his accent but hired the drunk Sark. That’s why California is as screwed as it is. It’s full of dumbasses.

Why would you smear our coach with anonymous, probably false, information. The LA media would likely have published anything of the sort to disqualify a Head Coach at USC.

Those "dumbasses" built the world's 5th largest economy. Basically drives the US economy right now. Sure that comes with social problems like homelessness and cost of living, but that's because they are THE center of world capitalism right now.

But hey, let's keep the BS conservative false narrative out of this and focus on the topic at hand, which is Coach O and USC.

In their defense, he didn't have a binder yet.

He would have always been some kind of joke at USC, even with success.

He would have never found Joe Brady or Slinger at USC. Probably would have found something that would work, but not that killer combo.

I thnk O is having more success at LSu than he would have had at USC.

USC needed a real rebuild, LSU needed a refresh.

O was set up with a solid roster and solid defensive staff.

LSU was a good team, that wasn't great

USC was a stright up bad team, and had a lot of roster issues after those sanctions.

i could not agree with this more
worse though, a lot of times they frame things like it can only be 1 thing or the other, when often it can be both, you can be lucky and good for example.

quote:

I think Orgeron was definitely fortunate that Joe Burrow ended up being the guy, but he was also active in setting the table for it to happen and knew he had to address the QB situation immediately

one very important thing we are overlooking is Burrow was eligible right away. The new rules that Fields/Martel exploited were not in effect yet. So even if say they had gotten Haskins instead, he would had to sit out a year and last year would have been a 6-6 disasters, i don;t think he would have been fired but the seat would be Chernobyl level.

quote:

I won’t start a pissing match by naming them but I can think of several coaches who probably would have tried to make it work with what we had rather than bringing in another guy.

Or more likely would have recruited "their guy" in 2018 and rolled with that.

Yes O has. I wanted Jimbo and I am proud to admit I was wrong. O is the ideal fit so far at LSU. And I have seen and heard of USC folks who would take O back right now.

Ed Orgeron could not have developed USC football as he has LSU football.

Nope, not according to them, the Negatiger chiite. Their agenda is all about how lucky O is and how he deserves next to no credit for anything good that happens to the team. He and Miles are just idiot savants who are otherwise both equally worthless. Saban is the only good coach we ever had. Even Dietzel, Cholly Mac and Arnsparger had too many things wrong with them. Without Saban our history is total chiiite. That is the narrative and they will go the rest of their lives holding to that. It is the Negatiger way...

They are what they are. And they are brilliant in their own diseased minds. Sad... but yet comical all the same. I guess me and others have some serious sick humor to want to laugh at someone else's misfortune:)>

literally no one has said this, except for some apparent O backers creating this strawman.

A lot of trojan fans are still fond of Coach O. Over on the Trojans forums they always tend to have a thread about him. A lot of them felt he wasn't given a fair shake and his success, especially this season, keeps those feelings alive.

Alleva will go down being hated, but he got the O hire right, and the Football Ops Center right for sure.

Lol how could you have interpreted any of what I said as a smear? It’s the exact opposite of a smear.
