Unrelated, USAA fired all of its American workers and replaced them with H1B’s.

Just logged in on the app. No problems with that at least.

Who knew logging into a banking app was so triggering? So funny

I have a doubt that they’ll do the needful.

As long as my homeowners increases are only $25 a year, they can hire whoever the hell they want. Just got my renewal yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised with just a $25 annual increase in premium.

I did last night, our checking and savings accounts were not showing up online or the app.

quote:

USAA experienced a significant widespread system outage yesterday, Sunday, October 18, 2026, which left many members completely unable to view their account balances or execute transfers.
According to tracking platforms like Downdetector and Down For Everyone Or Just Me, user reports spiked dramatically in the late afternoon, with the heaviest volume of issues logged around 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time.

Outage Details & Impact

• Vanishing Balances: Multiple users across Reddit threads and community pages reported logging into the mobile app and website only to find that their checking or savings accounts were completely missing from the dashboard, or showing balances that failed to update.
• Failed Transactions & Transfers: Members noted that debit cards were being intermittently declined at checkout despite having sufficient funds. Internal and external bank transfers were also entirely unavailable during the peak disruption.

1 of THE ABSOLUTE WORST insurance companies to deal with in regards to Auto Claims.
2026 Model Year vehicle, with less than 14k miles and USAA adjuster wrote an estimate that included a Used Radiator, both front headlamps and park lamps. The owners are furious.

This place needs community notes.

quote:

, USAA has not fired all its employees or all of its IT employees. While USAA has implemented periodic, targeted layoffs affecting hundreds of workers at a time (including some IT and operational roles) due to restructuring and changing business needs, the company continues to employ thousands of people and actively hire across various departments. Rumors about a total or company-wide termination of all staff or entire divisions are false

You use USAA for homeowners?

My grand pappy was a ww2 vet so I should be able to qualify, per Gronk

Is it worth moving over to?

Nothing recent, but past multiple experiences with USAA auto or home claims have been very satisfactorily handled.

He would have had to be a member for you to qualify. I ran into this with my grandfather he never became a member with USAA so i couldn't get it. I had another family member get me in.

Either you are confused, or there is something very unusual going on. USAA and affiliates are usually very good for home and auto.

Apparently some here based on the reaction to my post.

Now we have claims that USAA fired ALL American employees.

This place is wild.

This is true, however, I do think they've lowered eligibility requirements recently. Wouldn't hurt to check with them to see. If you can qualify for them, I'd say 100% get it. I've never been more satisfied with an insurance company and I'm an agent (I don't sell USAA) too. I see both sides of the industry and I'm very, very happy with USAA for my homeowners.
