How so? In addition to the program architect they also lost his right hand man OC and basically the entire offensive staff.
They lost a player who had 9 sacks last season.
Sure they retained QB and RB so not a total loss but let’s not pretend Ole Miss won in every single way.

Ole Miss is going to be tough this year strictly because of Chambliss and Lacy. I expect them to fall off after this season.

While he does criticize them for being hypocritical, this article is trying REALLY hard to make Ole Miss out to be having an awesome offseason.
The Pete Golding era is going to be hilarious once reality sets in.
Keeping those players just sets the expectations even higher and there’s no way they repeat that success without Kiffen and Weis Jr.

Its not getting nearly enough recognition about how petty and hypocritical this whole thing is. However, in a few years we will see how this played out for them. There is going to be a drop off once Chambliss and Lacy leave. If they aren't able to field competitive rosters this could be a situation to look at as a reason why. Its a bad look but ignorance is bliss and that describes Keith Carter perfectly.

Golding is an above average defensive coordinator and John David Baker is a really solid, high scoring offensive coordinator.
It's going to come down to recruiting and roster management for Ole Miss. I think they'll definitely drop off from last year though.

That's the future, and you're talking about public opinion about the quality of the football team, not LSU as an institution or Kiffin as a person.
It was already dying down before the Ole Miss pettiness, but it was still in favor of Ole Miss. The lawsuit may push it back to maore neutral.

Hes been an OC for 2 years (CO-OC at Ole Miss he didn't call plays). A solid hire is accurate but calling him a "High Scoring Offensive Coordinator" is not. ECU averaged just over 30 PPG that isn't "High Scoring." I agree its a solid hire but there is a lot of unknown when it comes to him as an OC. He was a hire of convienance because he was familiar with what they were running so it would be an easier transition for Chambliss and the offensive players. Lets not get crazy here.

And no matter what Chambliss or Ole Miss says, he wanted to follow the man that made him one of the best QBs in the country and transfer to LSU. He is a great QB, but without Kiffin and Weis in his ear on every play, his production will be less than it was last year.

Go look at what ECU did against any team with a pulse last year. For example they put up 17 against NC state, 13 against BYU, and 19 against Tulane

It's East Carolina, who had horrible talent on the offensive side of the ball and one of the worst offenses in college football when he took over. "High scoring" can be relative. He's going to score a lot of points at Ole Miss and get a bigger job eventually I think. The turnaround at ECU on offense was pretty damn impressive, considering those facts.

I’ve seen some arguments that Chambliss is about to be exposed as a system QB and the system moved to Baton Rouge.
Remains to be seen, obviously.
