Go look at what ECU did against any team with a pulse last year. For example they put up 17 against NC state, 13 against BYU, and 19 against Tulane

It's ECU. He turned that offense around big time.

I'm not saying I'm scared of the guy, just saying Ole Miss will have a formidable offense with him and Golding with have a pretty good defense.

Their long term success will come down to recruiting and roster management IMO.

Also Frank Wilson sucks at RB coach so that won't help them

I’ve seen some arguments that Chambliss is about to be exposed as a system QB and the system moved to Baton Rouge.

Remains to be seen, obviously.

I think there is some validity to that. Kiffin can work miracles with QBs. Even if John David Baker is a good OC, that doesn't mean he can do what Kiffin does to maximize QB talents. Even some good OCs need the "right" QB. Kiffin seemingly does it with anyone.

We'll see.

Lacy is really good, but I don't think they have much after him either.

What would the mood of this place be if ole miss went 11-1, only losing to LSU (let’s say big, something like 44-10)??

I guess a large part of that would be how LSU fared as well, but it would be interesting to see

I'd be perfectly fine with that if LSU was also making the playoffs. I don't care what Ole Miss does outside of the LSU game. I don't need our Kiffin hire to be validated by them sucking arse. I need it validated by him winning at LSU.

It's East Carolina, who had horrible talent on the offensive side of the ball and one of the worst offenses in college football when he took over.

But also look at the opponents...against his 3 best opponents, Pitt, Tulane, and BYU his offenses scored an average of 18.3 ppg lets not act like they're playing P4 opponents every week and putting up impressive stats. Its different. shite throw 4 opponents with NC State and his offenses averaged 18 ppg.

Again hes been an OC for 2 years theres a lot of unknown when it comes to him. Thats why I said I agree it was a solid hire but a lot more OCs with better resumes have flamed out when given that P4 OC job.

edit: accidentally left out NC State.

Well they aren't P4, they're in the AAC.

That cuts both ways.

I'm not saying he's Lane Kiffin. Just saying he's going to score a lot of points at Ole Miss.

I don’t agree with it.

Sure, Kiffin is a huge part of his success, but Chambliss is a playmaker. He made plays all year long. He’s a very good college QB.

Lacy is the best RB in college football. A dangerous combination.

You're giving him a lot more credit than he deserves which is fine but there is far too many unknowns surrounding him as an OC.

They might have the right to enforce a contract, but it is a horrible PR move since they are still strying to escape the ghosts of ole miss. Litigating and harassing what was "family" a few months ago. They care not about the well being of these young men. And that's the message they are sending to recruits, parents and grandparents. Look at what they do, not what they say. They've been white washing their racist, plantation owning image for 40 years and just destroyed it with this 1 boneheaded decision.

That article was actually aimed at both programs as Matt Hayes took a lot of indirect shots at LSU and Kiffin while extolling the greatness of Pete Golding.

Yeah Golding did fine "without Lane Kiffin" but with Kiffin's offensive staff and a two game winning streak, one of which was against Tulane who they had previously crushed.

Exactly how did Golding crush the tampering crap at Media days?

Hayes use to write for the Jacksonville Times Union and it was no secret that he didn't like LSU very much. He is, after all, a die hard Gator.
