Even more so, the fact that Saban has won the big one since he left LSU, which really hurt the LSU fan base. I have to admit, I loved the fact that the Florida fans booed Meyer Saturday night for some of their play calling...

I do agree that LSU looked to be the deeper, more talented squad on Saturday.

It is worth remembering that LSU has lost two starters for the year and hasn't missed a beat.

The 2010 LSU/UF game was a very good gauge of the two coaches. Meyer got outcoached (never thought I'd type that) by Miles. LSU has better talent (IMO) Without 2 special teams snafu's the game is a blowout. Wins don't come easy in Gainsville, regardless of injuries, etc. UF just came off a demoralizing loss at Bama (that was closer than the score looked) and had something to prove on their homefield.

Don't believe this one bit... I think you're as good as your qb, mid linebacker and safety is. LSU has better peolpe at those respective positions this year and should beat UF. With that said, I do not believe Les is better than Urban considering 2 NC's, 2 SEC titles, etc. IMO LSU should have
2 since Miles arrived. 2006 and 2007. The 2006 team was the best we ever had here IMO.

Meeeehh, Demps is pretty damn good...

Yep. He is.

That said, given their recruiting classes, I found it surprising how few real playmakers seem to exist on that team other than him.

Odd.

Also: how does UF have NO DEPTH. At a such crucial position as tailback? I cannot figure that out. Meanwhile. LSU. We have so much depth at RB we had to covert one to WR. And it's been that way at LSU for a while.

I didn't read this theead but Miles handled Katrina with incredible professionalism while still keeping the program together through very difficult times.

Very few coaches could have done what he did that year.

Im pretty sure I told everyone two weeks ago that this is UF's rebuilding year. LSU has two qbs that have started games the past two years now, UF just got a new youngbuck in there. Comparing this year is a little dumb.

Meyer wanted to go to a passing attack this year. Brantley was suppose to be one of the top arms in the country. That offense has undergone some dramatic changes this year. Im sure meyer is fighting a lot of temptation to just put Burton in and keep running the protypical tebowesque uf offense we've been seeing.

Both of these teams are 100% the respective coaches' players (no more Saban's players crap)

To me it seemed that even with Demps hurt, that LSU has the better team than UF.

That says a lot about Miles because both coaches has had 6 years, both are fighting for the same recruits, both are developing their own players etc.

Meyer has 2 national titles that aren't questioned in any fashion.

Not dumb at all, yes Both QBs have started games but neither have proven themselves to be the starter even after 3 years. Also, UF is rebuilding bc they lost tebow? Our QBs didn't have the luxury of watching the junior/senior QB and learning bc he was kicked off the team. On the flip side, tebow was the exact opposite.

So a Jr. is a "young buck" now?

2003 is the only title that is questioned. Not sure what you're getting at.

Sure, UF has a "youngbuck" at QB. Anyone on here or on our sites that say/said UF isn't/shouldn't have severe growing pains when he left is delusional.

We are replacing what many arguably consider the best player to ever play the game (or at least the last 25 years), with a Junior, yes, but one with little or no true gametime experience.

So you can "GTFO" all you want, but we're struggling because we lost Tebow. Just as we did when we lost Dannyboy after '96.

Not to mention many NFL'ers from our excellent defense we had last year.

So this is an absolute rebuilding year. Don't expect this trend to continue out of Florida. We may not compete for anything this year, but players grow up, and we will compete in the very near future for the NC. I'm thinking as soon as '12.

In 2007, LSU had 2 losses and got into the title game via a series of incredibly lucky outcomes. Nobody liked that more than I did and nobody questions the shellacking of OSU, but it is the only 2-loss title ever, and any fair observer would have to admit that that year was pretty wide open.

With UF, maybe you get some people arguing that in 2006, the title game should have been a rematch of OSU/Mich and UF should have been left out, but I haven't heard anybody seriously make that claim since they won so resoundingly.

Urban Meyer (second best coach in college football) record at Florida: 61-12 (34-10)

Les Miles (worst coach in college football) record at LSU over the exact same time frame: 57-15 (30-13)

Urban Meyer is 3.5 games better than Miles over six seasons. He is light years better.

What a crock! Meyer replaces Leak after the 2006 NC with a QB who may arguably the best college football player of all time who give him 3 years of spectacular QB play. Miles has to replaces Flynn with a a Hatch/Lee, Lee/Jefferson combo for the past 3 years because of the Perriloux situation. I would have loved to seen what kind of numbers Perriloux would have put up in 2008 trying to keep LSU in games with that lousy defense. I'm pretty sure that if Perriloux was as good as advertised, that LSU wins 3 or 4 of those games we lost in 2008 and 2009.

Unfortunately for Miles, this doesn't apply.
Bad QB play makes him an idiot and good QB play makes him the luckiest man alive.
