Updated SEC Baseball Offensive Stats

3 good starts wasted on the weekend. Held TN who hit 14 homers last weekend to just 17 runs total on 3 games, most of which came late in games against the back half of the bullpen, which continues to be just terrible. The offense puts up a whopping 8 runs in 3 games in a little league park. 8 runs on 26 hits and 8 walks is pitiful. Basically we have to get 3 hits and 1 walk in an inning, on average, to score 1 run.
The ONLY players on the team with more hits than strikeouts are White and Braswell. Braswell and Larson lead the team in OBP and AVG during SEC play. White has been good. Rest of lineup...not so much. We continue to get nothing out of Neal. Kling, while being not good, has surpassed Pearson in OBP. Brown and Frey don't seem to be the answer for that 3rd outfielder either. Probably stuck with Bingham/Larson/Kling or Pearson going forward. Jones is disappearing in conference plays and padding stats against midweek teams.

7 players hitting below .250

That's a lot of bad offense. Braswell has surprisingly done fairly well and Jones I guess still in last year form. Expected more from Jones.

Milazzo, White, and Travenski gone next year? Going to be a baddd lineup next year
Posted on 4/14/24 at 5:34 pm to NWLATigerFan12
That .252 must be .152 with runners in scoring position.

I’d put kuckarek at 2nd, Larson is an everyday starter now. Kling and Pearson to the bench

Nice compilation! You need to add in how many LOB for each player while AB, as that is also a telling stat!

It is a bit concerning that (with the exception of White) the guys producing the best at the plate are the guys with the least time in the system.

Hitting is the issue with this team. Never thought that would be the case after last year.
While not elite, the pitching has definitely done well enough for us to be over .500 in the SEC. Hitting has not held up their end of the bargain.

Yeah but Hold That Tiger 10 told me that our offense was going to be fine because we had a bunch of hits against VMI

King is batting 120.
Surely we have an intramural player who can hit better than this.

Always enjoy reading your write ups
Minus your personal bias, you could and should be writing for someone. Nice work

Piss poor offense from this group. We make every average SEC arm look like they are all Cy Young winners.
Opposing pitchers must lick their lips hoping to go up against this terrible lineup.

Short of going through every single at bat in the play by play, not sure if that's info you can find. And I don't have time or strength to look through 15 play by plays of sadness

Bottom line we lost 6 starters on offense and a LOT of run production. Jay signed 2 guys in the portal. Bingham and Braswell. He was counting on Jones, Kling and some of the younger players stepping up. For the most part it has not happened. Jones is better but still strikes out too much. Kling cant hit sec pitching. Milam was a surprise but he’s struggled in the sec. Larson is probably the only one who has some potential. All of the kids were highly rated coming out of HS.

But Johnson is supposed to be a hitting guru

Way too many players with more strikeouts than hits.
