This sucks. Tate was a huge upgrade over F. King.

Rutgers is definitely a step up so I don't blame Tate, especially if he was getting tired of Jeff Landry's BS.

I'm going to be pissed if Jeff appoints Bill Cassidy (because Bill knows he going to lose the GOP senate primary to Julia Letlow).

Our governor likes to meddle

He's behind this I'm sure. My cousin lives in Ruston and often does work that requires her to visit Baton Rouge. The governor resides over the meetings she's a part of. It's been said that Landry was never a fan of Tate and wanted him out to bring in someone he thought was more "suitable" (the word he used) for LSU.

He will be heavily involved in the search. This has apparently been one of his plans since taking office. I appreciate Tate for his time and what he's done. I only hate to see what will now happen to his efforts once Landry finds his puppet to take the spot.

If Landry is making the decision, this will be a royal shite show. Look for LSU to suffer and wouldn’t be suprised to see a few coaches leave

Cassidy may lose the Senate race, but it certainly will not be to Letlow.

Another consequence of idiot Landry. This will go brilliantly now that he will likely meddle in choosing the next president of the university.

Yea unfortunately this feels like a step back for LSU and Landry likely promised this one long ago to someone in the GOB network since he’s been running for governor for 10+ years now, lots of IOUs to make good on

Hey man as you know thats the way it works....on both sides.

I just hope its not an idiot. Its ok to be on the right (or left) just cant be an idiot about it. Give Tate credit, he came in, read the room, and put his politics aside and went to work. Hope that carries over, we will see.

Tate did a solid job. Still DEI stuff going on at LSU. He left LSU in a much better place but its time for him to move on.

I would love to see Stephen Moret get a shot at job.

Kelly is 100% gone if LSU does not make playoffs.

About 50% chance Woodward is gone in the next year, percentage goes WAY up if LSU does not make playoffs.

CMM is not getting another year barring a NCAA Tournament run (has to win at least 1 NCAA tournament game). Just making the tourney will not be enough most likely.

Those are the major dominos in the next year.

Yea, we are not firing McMahon if he makes the tournament this year.

When one of the foremost authors of CRT leaves your alma mater, it’s a good day. Some people forget that he pushed to hire Mel Tucker; what a disaster that would have been.

What other hires did he make with the primary factor being race? Obviously Todd Manual from Entergy in 2024 to head up his new woke department (renamed from DEI), and countless others. Also don’t forget the presentation he had posted on the Reilly Center for Media and Public Affairs entitled “Racism: Dismantling the System”. Tate was a professional at PR, but he was poison down deep.

I think we should wait and see who Landry hires before we crucify them.

LSU would owe Kelly like $60 million to fire him after next year. They aren't paying that buyout.

If he was such a poison then why was the university prospering under his leadership?
