oh well hiring stoops, steele, or promoting from within likely gets leslie and joe fired.

O plus Frank would be the best tandem in the country. Why would he worry about whether or not the DC has southern experience? Makes me nervous about O if this is true.

I can't believe les would do this to kids on the team not to mention the program as a whole.
Jesus Christ dude
I'm starting to think Stoops banged your wife or something

When it ends up being CP or Shoop, it will be very positive. Just be patient.

Do you also post under the name vegas4LSU? Or just a coincidence that two posters with "inside knowledge" reference Nevada in their name?

All indications are that Chavis really laid down on the job and it's something Les wants to see different with the new DC.
Plus you never know, there could be more adjustments to the staff (Brick) and Les may not want his guy to have to build relationships up from scratch.

I would almost rather that than see a stoops associated with this team in any position above equipment manager

I've defended Miles to no end in here the last ten years.
If he hires Stoops, I will officially be off the Miles bandwagon.

getting a prop interview because of Booby Stoops
Booby Stoops hates Les Miles' guts. So I have no idea why Miles would feel the need.

So concerned with this scenario

quote:Once again, you fans have selective memory. Les does not have a good record of hiring. He appointed an oline coach to be OC. Then retained him in that capacity when he had a full off-season to fix it. That same Oline coach wasn't qualified to be the oline coach, much less an SEC OC. Do I even need to mention the co-defensive coordinator debacle? Do I need to remind anyone that bring Peveto back for special teams was also an awful decision? IIRC Miles didn't want to retain Jimbo originally. Miles also isn't getting much production out of Haley lately.
But Miles has proven to be fairly good at hiring before let's hope the trend continues.

Stoops has lived off his brother's name for over a decade, and there is a reason OU's defense has been embarrassing since Venebles left.
Bob Stoops is the defensive mind on that squad too. Since he's pulled further away from controlling the defense, it has regressed.
Why some of you would "trust" Les because he was given a second try with the DC hire after totally blowing it with the Malveto disaster and then on top of that re-hiring Peveto as a special teams coach and destroying one of the stronger aspects of LSU's team in one season.
Yup, trust him.

Recruiting the south? Stoops?
He is actually a great recruiter. I'm not crazy about the hire from an x's and o's perspective but there is no doubting his chops on the recruiting trail.

You think Stoops would be a popular choice?
Posted on 1/3/15 at 6:53 pm to mytigger
True about Vennebles....Sumlin on staff with him at OU..was not considered for A&M DC
Of corse the OU D was much better when Vennebles was there.

I guess the Raymond, Wilson and Henry hires don't count eh?
