It’s likely that LSU knew it was possible, but obviously isn’t going to draw attention to it and the NCAA forgot about it until now.

It was "clarified" to Houston coaches via letter. How would LSU know about this if the publicly available information indicated otherwise.
frickING. ASK. THEN ASK AGAIN. AND frickING AGAIN. UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SURE. How y’all can’t comprehend this is beyond me. LSU was the ONLY entity with ANYTHING TO LOSE. That puts the onus on figuring this out 100% on LSU. How are y’all this fricking stupid?

Ok. So for 8 months LSU should have known this, yet they "just found out Wednesday?" You don't think they watched film on the guy when considering recruiting him as a transfer? They didn't do any digging to see if he was penalty-prone, etc.
Sorry, I simply don't buy that LSU didn't know about this until Wednesday. If so, it's a total failure by the program.

A simple lawsuit and injunction should be the next step.
Force the NCAA to defend this in court.

Was he thrown out the game... did he know it was because he was fighting or does he not understand what a fight is.... does he not understand the rules? Bottom line, he knew and if he said he didn't.... well no comment.

Or Houston coaches did tell him and he decided not to mention it. Either way, the onus is on LSU to look into it and prepare accordingly.

The refs called it unsportsmanlike conduct. The box score said the same thing. That doesn’t carry a suspension. He was never told it got changed later.

Well, he is ejected for unsportsmanlike like conduct for fighting because he threw multiple punches. You watch the film and there is a brawl that breaks out. Punches are thrown. The commentators use the words fighting. Why wouldn’t someone on LSUs support staff get clarification on this? It’s pretty well known to all coaches - throw punches, you are suspended. The video by itself should have raised a red flag for someone to follow up.
The fact the BYU WR was suspended and that was public knowledge should have raised a flag. And you can’t tell me that Haulcy didn’t know thr ByU guy was suspended.

They changed it a month after the game. Not sure how you prepare for something you didn’t even know existed. Also it’s one half, they’re not going to make him practice with the 2nd team during game prep

I hope he gets two picks in the second half.

Hey UH did yall ever get a letter about Haulcy’s ejection being upgraded?
Umm no don’t think so
Hey UH did yall ever get a letter about Haulcy’s ejection being upgraded?

Why would UH give up that info on a guy that left them lol?

How did BYU and the BYU WR know he was suspended for the 1st half of the Alamo Bowl?
I'm mean the rule is there in black and white. Even if the NCAA changed the ruling after the initial call on the field, it's clear BYU got notice.
Maybe Houston got notice and figured who gives a shite? We aren't playing in a bowl game. That MAYBE would explain Haucy not knowing. But that's something one of the 400 support staff for LSU has to look into ahead of time. They had to know he was ejected in his last game.

This. At the end of the day, LSU changes nothing as far as prep goes even if they had know about this weeks ago.

Realistically, Houston doesn't say anything how does anyone actually know. It's not Houston is under legal order to provide support.

It is completely realistic to see one person get ejected for fighting and the other for something different.

Or, how about ask the NCAA since, you know, its THEIR rule.
"Hey, NCAA. We just took this guy as a transfer. We see he was ejected in his last game of the season. Does he have to sit out the 1st half of our first game? Kthanxbye.
Personally, I think LSU 100% knew it was a possibility he would have to sit out. Yet, they were going to play dumb and semantics, and start him Saturday. It they got caught and he was suspended for the Tech game, oh well. It was worth it.
Someone "suggested" the NCAA confirm he was suspended for the 1st half...so LSU's cover was blown.
