Institutional control is going to be about football and basketball. Of course there are festering boils and pustules throughout the entire institution.

Not possible. Women are as good as men. Typically better.
Some bitch at vanderbilt proved it. She even won awards.

Football was always tied with the tennis though.

Yep. It shouldnt take to much brain power to figure out

Why wouldnt a womens tennis coach be fired immediately with all these complaints? What AD in his right mind would keep a coach for a non-rev sport with this much baggage....

the biggest question anyone should ask is why Joe Alleva and the athletic department covered so hard for Julia Sells.

Only thing I can think is that there was nothing that could be proven that would of prevented a law suit or some bullshite sexism charge against the university for firing a woman.

the number one goal of any non rev sport should be keep the NCAA away. winning is secondary

why did we get rid of this guy again? The Sells haven’t gotten any further in NCAAs than he did and that’s with recruiting violations and a new facility

Davis happened under Os watch. O deserves to be fired.

Davis was suspended multiple times and eventually kicked off the team. It's the allegations against Guice that are more concerning.

Mother fricking women’s tennis

Sure. Let's lay all of the blame on the tennis program and not the football players who were beating these young women.

Obviously, the tennis coach failed these ladies as well, but let's not pretend the football players committing domestic violence isn't the bigger issue here.

2012? Really? This shite pre-dates Guice and Davis by several years. That's REALLY fricking bad. There could be a LOT of victims who come forward. Until today, I didn't think this would be nearly as big as Baylor. Now I'm wondering if it's not going to be bigger.

Julia Sell has changed the culture of the LSU women’s tennis program and has helped lead the Tigers back to national prominence on the recruiting trail and on the courts in seven seasons as the head coach.

This is from Julia's bio on lsusports.net

Yeah... she changed the culture alright. How this person has a job is beyond me. Scott Woodward better tighten up his shot group.

Would baseball be affected by any of this? I know there is nothing wrong that the baseball program has done, but this seems to be an athletic department situation, not just football. Just making sure that baseball doesn’t get affected by any of this

The timeline regarding Davis is troubling. The text messages show him confessing to Verge and then nothing happened for 5/6 months.

That's not a good look at all for O and his staff

The NCAA was in town a couple years ago running a small investigation into the Sells/Women’s Tennis program but for different reasons they were known as horrible people in the tennis community that they had to cheat in recruiting to get kids to come here.

The Sells are POS and I feel for those athletes. There is no undoing the damage already done.

Everyone thinking about this situation should ask themselves "what if this was MY daughter?". I love LSU, but cannot overlook this if true. 10 consecutive National Championships can not balance out against my question.

Johnson, who grew up with a single mother and lived with her grandparents, needed that scholarship to attend LSU. She said Sell frequently dangled it over her head, threatening to take it away if she didn’t meet expectations. Johnson also said Sell told her at one point to keep her “lifestyle” out of the locker room, referring to her homosexuality, lest she make teammates “uncomfortable” or become a “distraction.”....

Frankenberger said Sell made her senior year a “living hell.” She said Sell played favorites on the team and treated those players differently from other members of the team. Frankenberger said Sell would buy food and coffee for her favorites on trips but wouldn’t for the rest of the team....

The former player was coached by Sell for one year and described the culture of the team that year as “toxic.” She suffered injuries that year and said Sell didn’t seem to care.

“I would describe her as cold,” the former player said. “She's not going to be the bubbly, friendly person. She's cold and hard.”...

He said he received phone calls from Sell at least once and sometimes twice per week about his daughter’s weight and lack of motivation to practice. He described the calls as “tattling.”

Sell seems like she wasn't a good person but why would you include these accusations in the article? She expected a player to meet expectations or lose her scholarship and played favorites? Who cares. Covering up a reported rape is the big issue. Including that other stuff just makes it seem like the charges are trumped up and petty.
