Good grief. Its obvious people just wanna make the best out of a situation and yes it if turns out LaEl is innocent, itd be great if he wound up wih the Saints.
That doesn't mean any of us are saying "so what a woman got killed" , and nobody has remotely said they "like it". Please

If he is truly not a suspect, as the police have said, he has been completely screwed by this situation. The police don't give "not a suspect" guarantees. I feel bad for the guy if he's not a suspect, as the police have said, and he has lost out on first round money.

La'el has always been a suspect. His attorney said so days ago. The cops aren't publicly tipping their hand.

Let's just say for a second that he is completely innocent. Didn't do anything, doesn't know anything.
Can you imagine how he feels right now having gone from realizing your lifelong dream and becoming a millionaire to probably going undrafted and seeing millions go down the drain within 48 hours for something completely out of your control? If he's truly innocent, I feel terrible for him. That has to completely suck.
Again, that's assuming he's completely innocent.

I keep trying to wrap my head around this. If he's guilty a guy with no criminal history whatsoever decided for his first crime he would, or pay someone to, shoot and kill a woman 7 months pregnant with his own child. This story doesn't add up either way you look at it.

He will get drafted. Only takes 1 team in a later round.

Yeah, I hear you. The situation just sucks in general, forgive me for thinking that post was a little overly gleeful. if Collins is completely innocent, as we all hope and believe to be the case, he's getting railroaded here.
If he's completely exonerated and signs with a team as a UDFA, he's losing out on millions. If it happens to be your team that benefits, does that make it better?

If I'm completely innocent I'd have hired a good attorney by now and would be screaming bloody murder that I got screwed, If it was my child I would be at the hospital trying to take care of that baby. If I had a relationship with that woman I would be giving the police all the help I could finding out who committed the crime. It just doesn't look good for him. If he was innocent he should be proving his innocence not going into hiding. He was looking at being a multi-millionaire tonight if this is proven untrue, now if he's innocent he's lost millions and he's no where to be found. It doesn't add up and he's been one of my favorite players the last 4 years, unbelievable and very sad for the young woman who was murdered, the baby and LC.

You went off the deep end there bud.
I'm sure Lael has an attorney.
Where do you get off saying he's hiding? The dude flew back home from the draft to obviously talk to the police...

Well, he has hired an attorney.

IF it was your child, I'm sure you would be doing that. But what if it wasn't? For all we know, this may not be La'El's child. If he knows that it's not, why would he be at the hospital trying to take of another mans baby?
All that being said, I agree with some of what you're saying. He definitely could and should have handled this differently and his behavior so far is puzzling to say the least.
Again, my comments above assume that he has nothing to do with the crime. Obviously, I have no idea what the situation is.

According to Jason La Canfora, La'el and his attorney went to police today and were turned away because the police told him he isn't a suspect and they would get back to them.

Is this link for real? AHHHH! Why isn't it splattered all over these draft shows. CLEARLY they just want to know if he is the dad. Cmon media straighten this out for the guy.

This entire situation is so freaking bizarre. One minute, I think he's looking more and more like he was somehow involved in the murder, then the next I think it's extreme bad luck for him and he's innocent.
Posted on 4/30/15 at 6:35 pm to Shaft Williams
That link doesn't say he went TODAY.

Same here ... I feel terrible for the victim, the child and their family but I also feel terrible if this young man has been screwed. I do hope the solve the case.

well, the NFL has already had a similar case (Rae Carruth)
in no way am i implicating collins...i'm just saying the "worst case" factual scenario has already occurred in this very organization

That right there is just wrong on too many levels.
