this isn't TV, a homicide investigation takes time.
and to totally rule anyone out isn't a 5 minutes affair.

no they don't, they are trying to solve a pregnant girls murder

The interview was likely scheduled by Collins' attorney, not the BRPD

All that matters: is this his child.

If not, non story.

If so, he's screwed. Whether cleared or not.

Heres what I read into that. If Collins' people are arranging the meeting or after the draft, then he is involved more than everyone is being led on. If BRPD is responsible for arranging the meeting after the draft and making all of this public, then thats a pretty shitty move on their part.

I suspect that this move is based on BRPD, which is why I shake my head.

Late last night BRPD said Collins had still not called to meet. So it's pretty obvious which side is delaying.

Agreed. In all honestly, the fact that BRPD is ok with the meeting not happening until Monday, it doesnt appear to me that Collins is being questioned regarding involvement in the murder. I mean, if they have any info at all that would make them think he did, I would hope they would press the issue a little more then this

No grounds, just personal bias. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm NOT an attorney. I do have access to 2 famiky members that are criminal defense attorneys.

If asked for an interview by police regarding a murder, YES, one should have an attorney present. I would comply and comply in a very prompt way. Last thing I want is for police to start to subpoena phone records, etc because I made them wait.

There are many many possible situations explaining all parties actions. What if LC fears for his life. What if he were threatened or extorted in some way? Someone killed that woman who MAY have been carrying LC's child.

The police couldn't give a shite about the draft. They are BR cops and I'm sure they love LSU and hold LC in high respect. They are in need of information from LC to help them determine all the facts of this murder/paternity situation. Good or bad, they want him asap.

From everything we know, LC is a solid young man and highly respected by his team and coaches. Hopefully for his part, it's only paternity type questions and proving he is or is not the father. If he is, he now has a child to raise! (assuming the child has survived).

I just know these cops aren't requesting this interview just to ask him about his sex life with her. Does he have a SO that was pissed about this pregnancy?

There are so many angles, they are too many to name. I would love nothing more than an LSU guy being called in round 1 tonight and his name cleared totally. I just don't see it happening that quick, unfortunately.

In this environment with a woman involved and the NFL, it doesn't look good for them to ignore this and take a flier on him with positive clearance of his name.

Not saying this happened, but they could be grandstanding for the media. Wouldnt be the first time a police dept has done that. I dont think this is the case, but some people do

I would generally agree with this, but you would think if this were the case that BRPD would at least be more assertive to not completely frick this kids chances of making money.

They were as assertive as they could be. They said publicly he isnt a suspect and they are interviewing him and plenty of others in order to gather info. If people want to First 48/CSI conspiracy theory that quote to death with speculative theories they is nothing they can do

They can't really press the issue. The interview being delayed doesn't really imply his involvement or lack thereof. It likely was scheduled by his attorney so he can try to figure out and plan for any questions BRPD may ask and then prep Collins accordingly. That's not something you want to rush. Nothing good can come from trying to get through that by the end of today, which is why it makes sense for his attorney to schedule the meeting for next week, giving Collins all weekend to prepare.
