Amazing.. I like Coach O.. LSU's offense has not look this good in several years. If he can bring in a top notch OC, I'm all on board for him staying.
10 combined points in his 2 losses? The UF yards don't matter if we can't actually score.

I think some of you are just enamored with names. If Alleva and his team have decided that their process is make Fisher and Herman say no and then if they do hire Orgeren...thats a solid plan.
Orgeron has proven himself worthy of this job in his time as the interim. He certainly deserves the job over the other guys mentioned in my opinion. We could do way worse than Orgeron with a real proven OC. If its Orgeron with Kiffin and Aranda...we could do FAR FAR FAR worse.
Its about hiring a guy that will work at LSU...not about making a splash. I dont care if Orgeron wouldn't be considered at other places. I care if he could be successful AT LSU. I believe he has been and would be. Not worried about it at all.

I find it hard to believe that we let the winningist coach in our history go midsession and didn't have our coach on the hook before the end of the season. If this gets messed up and we hire CEO, then Alleva should be fired immediately. Not because I hate CEO, but because he had his chance to get his guy, whoever that was, and botched it.

I like how everyone acts like recruiting will go to shite if O leaves.
Why exactly? We still have ace recruiters on staff and have a fantastic history of getting high end recruiters when the talented ones leave.

It's called typing on a iphone. Typographical errors happen. Get a life. It is now fixed.

Hey Dixon. We don't appreciate you leaking false information

Just because you keep using this argument does not make it true. How did he prove himself worthy? They looked like utter incompetent shite against Bama and a crippled Florida. Who cares if he out athlete/depthed lesser teams? Why am I supposed to assume his game planning gets better as soon as he's handed more responsibility and stress?

Good to hear O has always been my #3 guy. Can't lose IMO

I want the big coaches to turn us down twice first lol

The Admin does not believe the whole system is broken and that is why they are reluctant to blow the whole system up like some on here want. So this plays well for O.
So much for Alleva wanting change then?

Miles was not the winningest coach in LSU history. Cholly Mac still has that.

This program needs something refreshing and new. I just don't get that feeling with O.
Posted on 11/25/16 at 12:08 pm to tigerbaitlawyer
The only fans who would be happy with this decision are those of the other SEC West schools.

DId you actaully read? I never said it was O's job. Just said he is ahead of the field of others after Fisher/Herman.

They are not against O but want Herman and Fisher to turn them down first before getting behind O. O likely soldified himself ahead of Fedora and Gundy.
I'm okay with this honestly. I don't want fedora here

If this happens, I'll tune back in to this board in 3 years for the next coaching search and a new AD search...

LSU cant tell Orgeron the no just yet, because they know Ponamsky will run to the media. And it will be a big cluster on media, that LSU has their coach
Posted on 11/25/16 at 12:13 pm to tigerbaitlawyer
Can you imagine the laughing stock LSU would become with Johnny Jones as BB coach and Ed Orgeron as football coach.

However, the "big boosters" want Herman/ Fisher. They are not against O but want Herman and Fisher to turn them down first before getting behind O. O likely soldified himself ahead of Fedora and Gundy.

I am OK with this plan. I want a full court press for Herman or Fisher. If that fails I would rather have O than those other guys they are talking about. I got ripped on here the other night for bringing up Bobby Petrino's name who I think is one of the best proven college coaching commodities out there so I will leave it at that.
