I obviously wanted Underwood, but I really prefer to load up recruiting classes with big uglies and grab QBs through the portal. Not sure we will ever be able to compete for the top high school QBs regardless of how badly they want to come here. Just too much money involved. Now we're behind the 8 ball because we've thought we had Underwood for the last 2 years, and so did every other QB recruit.

College football is dead. It had been dying for some time but NIL has pounded the last nail in the coffin. No difference between it and pro football. It was fun while it lasted. I enjoyed watching from the 1970's until the last couple of years. I can't root for players who are making massive amounts of money and who have no commitment to a school beyond a paycheck. To top it off coaches are being paid stupid amounts of money regardless of how they perform year over year. Like many things in the US it has become co opted by monied interest who have hijacked an old tradition and turned it into a bland commodity that is a faux experience.

Sure did. But he never threw the ball and then ran to catch it.

Same. Feeling nostalgic, like this Bama fan on the SEC Rant-

A $23,000 Dodge Charger could get you a damn good player back in the day.
*sigh*
Thread - Cam Newton got chump change.

Yea this is a tough part too. No doubt you had top recruits they could have gotten but they didn't even bother because they didn't want to compete against Underwood.

Think about the "poor" players in the locker room with him. Maybe they miss a block on a blitz on purpose.

He was always going to Michigan. I knew something was up when that 4 star QB they had decided not to go Michigan. He has be committed for year. He knew

LSU doesn't seem to bid for anyone though. they let all those defensive linemen go last year because they didn't want to pay. LSU just gets scraps from aggy and in-state D2 schools. not a serious program right now.

Whatever happened to recruiting a 3 or 4 star and coaching them up to a 5 star? Ah, the good old days!

Ever see Cam Newton in 2010?
Not sure why you’re replying to me. I said nothing about Cam Newton or any other player “taking over a game.”

Now we have Patrick queen and Fehoko going at each other’s throat on X. The melt has reached 1.9.12 levels.

The worst part of all of this is that we have to watch Nuss play again next year

Collins could surprise.
