No, SW did not reinstate Wade. He was reinstated the week before Scott was hired by Alleva. Scott didn’t like Wade and wanted him gone. This was not a secret around the athletic department.

Woodward fired Wade because he was tired of the bad press from the dork CBB journalists like Forde, Bilas, Dickie V, etc. He wanted to be in the media’s good graces and didn’t care enough about Wade or basketball to withstand it.

Let me promise you one thing. If Bill Self had lied to Kansas like Wade allegedly did, he would've kept his job. If Wade had been here 5 more years than he was, he would've kept his also.

Wade had several missteps dealing with the situation leading up to being reinstated, and eventually fired. Had he handled the situation better originally, he possibly could have withstood the NOA and kept his job. At that point they could have suspended and amended his contract like they did the first time when he did not comply with his superiors. Because of how Wade acted when the news came about, they administration had already wasted those bullets as a warning.
