Imagine if Marcus Thornton had been academically eligible in 2006 instead of playing JUCO that season.
Imagine if Jeremy Hill were available in 2011.
Or Tyrann in 2012.

One of my qlltime favorite Tigers.
Nobody here is gonna fault you on this Tyr7s. Sometimes you gotta strike while the iron is hot.

What about his education? You think he is just saying that just to say it? If money wasn't a factor most people would probably play 4 years.

Tyrus provided so many good memories in really just one year at LSU. The Duke and Texas games alone were enough to cement a wonderful legacy.
He caught an alleyoop in in the pmac against Arkansas that I swear would’ve gone over the backboard otherwise

there's a doc style movie that boosie made and tt was there with him, dude comes from nothing. he was accepted by those guys because he comes from the hood.
why would you find it hard to believe a black guy lived with his grandma who was poor?

All I can tell you is that he opened up a restaurant right outside the gates of LSU around 2016? Went there when he first opened for lunch. I had no idea he was the owner.
Dude was nicest guy I ever met. Sat, talked, and asked for an honest opinion on the restaurant. Food, service, everything. Asked me to be honest and critical, because he wanted to make this the best place possible. Said he always dreamed of running a restaurant like that. Then, talked about playing for LSU basketball and how much he loved it. Probably most genuine pro athlete I ever met.
Seemed like a great businessman. Wanted to make his place better, honest talk, no sugar coating. I hope that place made it.

No one would disagree with that except opposing fans.
Loved to watch those guys play.

On my personal rushmore of LSU hoopers for that post-katrina 2006 season alone
Dude owned the paint through the tourney playing on a busted ankle

Loved Tyrus on that team. The man had the wing span of a damn 747.

he is currently getting his degree while working for Doug Gottlieb so yeah i assume he wishes he already had it so he can get a real coaching gig
He was the definition of raw when he left LSU. Hard to turn down a lottery pick but 100k would have at least got his grandma away from washing jungle juice puke at the tri delt house

TT and Shaq were the best post defenders all time.

Tyrus Thomas worked at LeBlanc & Waddell one summer when I was working there. I can't remember if any other student athletes were also there.
He was always smiling, very polite and so much fun to watch at LSU.
I follow him on Facebook. I think he just graduated from Minnesota? or somewhere up north where he is working.

Jordan Mickey deserves to be in that conversation. He's second only to Shaq in blocks, while also averaging more points and almost as many rebounds as Thomas.
That said, Thomas was probably bit more impactful to his particular team

Wisconsin-Green Bay. He was or is trying to get into coaching. Also a really good photographer.
