This screams ineptness.

How would they find out if the player says nothing and it's in another state?
Do you think the Georgia police call coaches to let them know or do you think LSU should be calling every players home town to see if they've been arrested?

Exactly. It’s pretty easy to understand how no one at LSU knew about it. He was arrested several months after the robbery and bonded out immediately, plus it was in another state. He got arrested in the county right next to mine and I had no idea until today.

I don’t think people are thinking this through

Bro, I hate to break it to you, but they weren’t stealing guns so they could feed the poor kids of his community.. dude got caught up in some foolish thuggery.. we don’t need him in our program..

The guy you’re replying to didn’t say we need to keep him in the program. I’m pretty sure no one in this thread has said that.

What he’s saying is that there’s a chance that he’s not the horrible human being that TD is painting him as. To my knowledge, he’s never been a disciplinary issue for anyone going back to HS, so to jump from that to stealing guns is one hell of a leap.

I think all we’re saying is that while his involvement warrants charges and absolutely means he should be dismissed from the team, maybe lay down the pitch forks until we know what exactly happened.

I’m just trying to wrap my head around the fact that there is a ‘grey area’ with this shite...

The dude drove a get away car for other people who robbed a fricking pawn shop FOR GUNS

If this were the OT, and not an LSU football player, y’all would have ran this dude through the ringer already..

So save me the ‘put down the pitchforks’ shite.

I mean, look at the hypocrisy here, the guy said:

What do you think they were getting guns for? Instagram photos??

The coaching staff didn't have to announce this until camp start which is why you're hearing it now.

Let's not pretend the coaching had no clue.

My thinking was that maybe he had no knowledge of what the other guys in the car intended to do, and when they ran out of the shop holding handfuls of shotguns he panicked and drove off with them.

But, after reading a few more articles, it appears that’s not very likely. In addition to armed robbery, he was also booked on conspiracy to commit armed robbery after “reviewing phone records”. That leads me to believe that he almost certainly knew what was going on and probably helped in the planning.

Generally speaking, I try pretty hard to avoid jumping to conclusions about people’s character based solely on arrests, regardless of where I post.

Add to that the fact that I live in the area and I’ve never known the guy to be trouble, then yeah, I’m going to scratch my head and wonder WTH when he gets arrested for armed robbery.

But again, it does sound like he was almost certainly involved.

I’m from the area where we went to HS. I don’t know him or his mom, but whenever I speak to people who do (former coaches, teachers) they either say good things about him or nothing really at all. He never got in trouble at Lanier as far as I know.

I am as well and know his high school coaches well. This is a surprise for me knowing what I know about him.

Shame to throw it all away over something so stupid.

What if he didn’t know they were going to rob it?

Let the legal system play out. If he was complicit, kick him off without hesitation. If no charges are pursued and the DA thinks he was ignorant to the criminal activity, let him back on.

Very simple, just go with what law enforcement and the DA say happened.

Yeah you’d think Taylor murdered a school bus of children the way some of these people are reacting.

He hasn’t even been convicted of anything yet.

What’s your stance on urban meyer’s situation? Should he be fired?

If he was ignorant to the physical abuse and truly didn't know it was going on, all should be forgiven.

So my stance is the same.

ETA:

That is to say, I don't know when these guys were arrested. Was it in the act or later on? Did he know they robbed the place before? Did he know after?

I just want to know more information.

The Rant: Guilty
Don’t need no stinking evidence.

But, had he choose Alabama he’d be practicing right now.

I'm not a pawn shop connoisseur, but I know of 0 pawn shops open at 2:45 AM.

But maybe they were just going to look in the window at that barely used weed eater when a rock slipped from his friends hand and hit the window.

Then they tried to use the hammer to retrieve the rock because it was just slightly out of reach.

sorry this isn't Alabama where Coach Saban could just get a judge who is 'friendly' to the program to just make it go away. At LSU unfortunately there are consequences to a players actions. We can't magically turn recruits who are retards into scholars or criminals into saints.

That is a decision you make a the child's father. I will assume you are intelligent enough to understand the difference between parenting and trash talking someone you don't know on a sports forum. This way I don't have to explain to you the difference between the situation here and the hypothetical one you are so proud of.

To me, if we get him out of this, it will bode well for the direction of our program. And I'm serious. It will be a sign that we're willing to do what it takes to win. It's not worse than what we heard about Perriloux. I think we all wish we would have swept what he did as well as Honey Badger under the rug.

ON the one hand I can agree with that. It seems our fans admire a win at all cost coach like Saban who would just find some way to make it go away and sweep it under the rug. And in reality it probably would help recruiting to be know as that type of coach. But with our coaches we want them to be held accountable for not being tough enough on the players. Seems we want to have it both ways.

I remember our fans being mad at Miles for not kicking Perriloux and Mathieu and other players off the team sooner and saying he gave them to many chances. Yet on the other hand we admire coaches with no morals like Urban Myer and Saban who will do what ever it takes to get a winning program.
