Every year there’s at least one player who has character problems, almost washes out, but hangs in there. So that’s who you think should get #18? I think it should go to the guys who provided the example that led the borderline guys down the right path. Chaisson had it last year, Moreau the year before. Never a doubt about those guys. Perhaps Shelvin has become one of those guys. I really have no idea.

Shelvin will be given 318. He needs a number as big as an area code!

Shelvin has some speed for a big dude... watched a replay the other day that had shelvin trailing the RB almost step for step 10-20 yards downfield. It was impressive.

I am a big fan of Tyler Shelvin but arriving out of shape and with a bad attitude is NOT a good reason for a reward.
There are good reasons to reward Shelvin for his accomplishments.
We have players that overcome impediments to their success which are not self inflicted.

Stevens is the only one who should get 18.

The only player.

but he or someone completely screwed up the 18 tradition, just give it to one player per year and forget about a dumbass patch

Really thought it became watered down when they began giving it to multiple players.

Also not a fan of the way they’re handling giving out the 7 now. If they continue to just make it a one year deal, you’ll end up with another Giles incident.

I'll support just because it would be hilarious to see a guy that size wearing 18.

Imagine that truck hitting somebody at full speed! I know what you are referring to. I have seen him on replays motoring pretty damn good chasing plays down.

Last year was the only time a player wore a patch with #18 on it. It was cush and that was because #18 in not a legal number or an Olineman.
