All these kids are on partial scholarships (1/4 or 1/3, etc.) and a lot probably don't have the money to buy what we all take for granted. It is a damn shame the NCAA doesn't allow us to be more generous with our athletes.

easy there killer. how do those "normal folk" that pay their way fully afford food? come on now.

How is this kid not kicked off the team and not serving 5 years in a state prison?

Ha, I played football with Sgt. Jason Bettencourt. Dude was a solid 240 at fullback. We called him "The Bowling Ball."

Sorry for Tyler. He should have asked his coach for money, then the NCAA could get us. How many of you have ever done such a thing?

How much do "normal folks" contribute to the athletic program with their talents? My kid is at LSU and I have to pay just like everyone else, but he doesn't make the school any money. These kids makes money for us and we arrest them for a bag of chips? It just doesn't seem fair.

I would be surprised if anyone was on full scholarship, even our All American MM. But he is a smart kid and probably has TOPS. Frankly, TOPS has saved our baseball program (and kept a lot of smart kids in state). Patrick Taylor was a great man.

So what should be an acceptable limit to steal? Chips? Beer? Hotdog? Clothing? Bicycle? Car? where do you draw the line? Stealing is stealing.

The guy made a mistake and we should all move on. Forget about it folks. Unless you want to be the person that likes to play douche bag and keep this thread going.

It is over and what happened is over. Tyler Jones is a good player but served his suspension for what he did. No need to harp on it anymore.

Agreed. It was $2.00 worth of food; he wasn't dealing crack to little kids. Hopefully, he's learned from this.
