The 17 strikeout game was a big display of his talent and intangibles and if you think that didn’t help his draft stock you’re wrong.

Showed he isn’t just raw talent.

I think the whole season led up to what he did in Omaha.
He developed well throughout the season with his composure and it all came together in the biggest game of his life.

It’s a shame because I think his talent and season was overshadowed by Skenes. I mean we watched more than likely the greatest college pitcher ever on Friday night, and then Floyd on Saturday.

Good for him. He earned it.

I half agree, he earned that 2nd starter role throughout the season (that's not where he began the season at) and was our best and most consistent pitcher outside of Skenes all year.

But his postseason run, particularly in Omaha against the best teams he faced all season, was super impressive. 27 Ks in 2 games between Wake and Florida with that nasty elevated fastball that kept fooling everyone definitely gave him a bump up the draft boards compared to where he was projected going into the postseason. That's undeniable.

Never forget that this is the guy Lester Earl said shouldn't be a starter for LSU.

Without that 17 strikeout game, he doesn’t get near that signing bonus.

He was projected to be a 3rd round pick before Omaha. The slot value for a 3rd round pick is around $800k.

He shot up the boards in Omaha and went 38th overall with a slot value of $2.2mil.

So no he didn’t earn it all Omaha. Just about $1.4mil of it. You tard.

I get it going after Lester but there are a ton of posters on this board that have no idea what they are talking about

He’s a real life example of the ole saying where being “lucky” is where preparation and opportunity meet. The kid prepared all season for the opportunity he had at Omaha and absolutely killed it. So proud for him
