It’s always easier for a WR to win a position battle.

They know where they’re going.

The Cb has to react.

If both are operating at an elite level even the best CB will get beat.

To me Chase hasn't looked that great so far. Brennan put two where he needed to and Chase dropped them. It's only been 2 days though.

This is correct. A wide receiver with abilities similar to a DB will beat that DB like a redheaded stepchild. That's why defenses rely on coverages - even in man situations - that give the DB an advantage. For example, they will go man on the outside and have a safety take away the post and the fly. Or they'll go man in the slot and have a LB take away the inside cross. And when they truly go man to man with zero help they do it as a surprise tactic to catch the offense running a zone route, or else they do it when they have a superior DB matched against an inferior WR.

And Hilliard and James both hit the holes and broke out their very first game of their Freshman year.

"the Dalton-James gang, scored 25 touchdowns in '82. including 16 by Hilliard, an NCAA record for freshmen."

and Sullivan is a TE now.

I’m not trolling here, I’m genuinely asking: why does this continue to get mentioned as if it’s breaking news? They made this move in the spring and yet it has been front page news on the tigerdroppings homepage as recently as Friday and here it is again. Are people mentioning this in the media as if it’s a new development or are they just referencing the change when talking about the TE/WR groups?

While Fournette and Guice were individually great back, I never viewed them as a great tandem because it was only one or the other. It was always Fournette, unless he was hurt and never both having great games, or a back and fourth from game to game.

When they both got good snaps in a game, they were ridiculous though.

2015 South Carolina
Fournette 20 car 158 yd 1 TD
Guice 16 car 161 1 TD

2016 Arkansas
Guice 21 car 252 yd 2 TD
Fournette 17 car 98 yd 3 TD

They never had many games where they both had 10+ carries, but man when they did, it was something else.

I agree with him though it did feel like LF7 is our guy and when we’re up big or he’s hurt Guice is right behind him.

We didn’t mix em up much.
