Update: thanks so much to this community for throwing out options, many of which we started working on - Delta just came through and got them on an 8pm direct flight! Geaux Tigers!

Anyone else stuck in Houston trying to get to Nashville?

My parents' flight got canceled yesterday with the weather and they got booked out for today but with a connection through Washington. Now their flight has mechanical issues and they will miss their connector flight in Washington - already weren't getting in now until late, but don't know if they can make it.

My dad and I are on the SEC stadium tour seeing LSU play in every venue, all we have left are Vandy, Missouri, and Kentucky. Hate to miss this opportunity because the next one probably won't be for 8+ years!

Any ideas? Travel to New Orleans is closed because of I-10.

Honestly if you're not there by game time you could probably call Vanderbilt and tell them. They'll probably push the game back and wait for ya.

Have you looked into flying out of Austin? It won't be cheap, but you might be able to find a flight with an odd connection.

ETA. Actually, probably better and cheaper to try to catch a flight out of DFW. There are several available this afternoon. Tell them to start driving to Dallas.

That is an issue the airline should be able to fix for free. They are not missing their connector due to anything they did wrong.

See if they can go anywhere else that would get them connected to Nashville. It may take 2 connections.

Uncle and Aunt aren't leaving until late. Leaving Houston and landing in Nashville at 10:20. As of now, everything is on time.

Looks like weather stands in the way from the DFW route, currently. But, I guess they can always fly around. That storm needs to get the frick out of here already!

Better yet, just drive to Nashville.. just Google mapped it and it’s less than 12 hrs from Hou to Nash... start now, get in at 1am, wake up at 9 to go to the game, then party after the win.

Look at flying out of Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio.

If on UA, AA, or DL use their interline agreements to get on flight given the mechanical delay.

If on SW, just move to a flight from any of the other TX airports to BNA.
