Law of averages. One era goes down and another must rise up.

We're a basketball school!

Always wondered what that would feel like.

I actually believe so. He is exciting on the bench and gets his players excited like Dale did. It's looking like he can recruit like Dale did. And I think Dale would even say that his game plans are better than his were and he knows more Xs and Os. The sky is the limit.

Hard to say otherwise when you see the level of xs and os and fundamentals then you look at the recruiting class we are bringing in.

With that said LSU fans underrate what Brown did. 15 straight post seasons with 10 straight tourneys with a smaller tourney size I might add.

Don’t ever remember all 3 major sports doing well together. So, yea, bb is definitely on the upswing since fb is down!

It really might be something our folks here in Louisiana need, a change of pace from Football and Baseball. A great Basketball program that is actually competitive on a National level. It’s going to be fun to watch in the near future. One thing about it, NCAA Basketball is a really big deal and a big money draw across the country, so it’s not like it’s a cheap attempt at something, we are building something special right here in BR Louisiana!

2005 Baseball went 40-22 hosted a regional
2005 Football went 10-1 won the west and played for the SEC championship despite Katrina and rita
2005-2006 LSU Basketball went to final four

85-86 Basketball went to FF
1986 football won SEC
86 baseball went to CWS

2005 baseball was really shitty compared to every team up to that point since 1990

And the sports season goes

Football
Basketball
Baseball

So that season would be

2005 football
2005-2006 basketball
2006 baseball

Hate to be a debbie downer, but it depends on how long wade stays. Will he be a long timer college coach that stays at a location or will he get plucked by the NBA like Stevens or a blue blood team?

Either way, the next few years is shaping up to be really special. Beyond that it just depends, just enjoy it while you can. When this class gets here next year it’s going to be lit.

What Brown did was extremely hard because LSU was absolutely a pathetic program when he took it over. LSU didn't even do anything with Pistol Pete. He built the program from nothing and made it one of the most exciting programs out there. He accomplished things in terms of program excitement that no other college basketball coach did. He won a lot of games and made great tournament runs.

That was the Golden Age of LSU basketball for sure, but with even better coaching and getting the top talent that exists around here, I think they could win a NC here and Golden Age would be redefined in some way.

You can’t have a golden age without a national championship IMO. You were just in the Bronze Age.

Yeah and we fired smoke the following year. My point was mainly just to show that we somehow resign ourselves to mediocrity when we shouldnt and there was a time where we didnt. We used to expect excellence in all sports.
